This article was very interesting. Every great band in music history goes through some hiatus in their respective careers, there are highs than lows then highs again. The backstreet boys aren't over, not by a long shot. The way the popular music is luming towards heavier, edgier rock music only goes to show pop has been put on the back burner. But as long as twelve yearold girls love the swooning of a young guy, and 20 somethings love the feelings a hot young blonde guy puts in her heart the Boys will come back. There glory has just begun, They will be the rolling stones of pop. At 52 drunk and high, they'll sing and dance on stage better than ever. Bash them all you want, say there over but remember one thing 10 years ago everyone said they wouldn't last a year. obviously they have and 10 years from now i have a feeling this same conversation will be taking place again.

I believe that the events that were mentioned in this article did contribute to the standing of Backstreet's current career. I think marriage, alcoholism, and all of the problems with their record company, may have caused ppl just to lose interest.

I agree with the article. The Backstreet Boys are over. You can sit here and say KTBSPA all day and it wont mean anything. The Backstreet boys ruined their own careers. Marriage...drinkin..and drugs dont mix with the kinda group theyre in. Point blank! Its over. They wont ever be what they were b4. Its time to let someone else shine. Yall can hate on Nsync all day and say theyre not as good...but lets check the record sales, they say somethin different. And ur right...BSB have the right to get married...but they cant complain when they lose fans and they cant pull that whole true fan stuff either. A true fan is anyone who buys ur music. So I think every1 just needs to move on. BsB as we all knew it is dead.

OMG! I was reading it and it just made me so mad! Although I just LOVED it when they kept trashing NSTYNC saying how they're coping BSB! I thought that BSB were okay... NICK SAID THEY WERE! OMG if they break up I'll DIE! I LOVE THEM ALL AND IT WOULDN'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT NICK! It would suck if he left... we'd lose a lot of fans... IT DOES MATTER STUPID!! THAT LAST COMMENT SUX!

I don't have much to say... I do, but it will take to long and it's pointless to begin with. I just wanna say that this article is probably freaking a lot of fans out, which is unecessary. The amount of support these 5 guys have in beyond believable, and so in the end, they're gonna do absolutely amazing. Te media likes to do this. they make a big deal out of nothing, and really, there's nothing to fuss over right now. These guys are in the music biz. It's never easy, nothing ever goes smoothly, and right now, (assuming everything said is correct) they're just going over a bumpy patch in the road.

I read the NY Times article and am glad that even a horribly reported article introduces the BSB fans to the business reality of the music industry. What the Boys have had to deal with up to now is only a small part of a larger movement in the entertainment world of consolidation and monopolization. What and how Kevin describes their position is so true: business demands on one side and artistic endeavor on the other. What the fans must always realize is fan dollars speak the loudest. It is the only thing the business mongols understand. So you show thumbs up with your dollar. Votes and presence matter but what you do with the dollar speaks mountains.

First of all: it's moments like these you realize how much money can effect people in so many different ways, and often times, it's a disappointing kind of actions they take...I don't know anything of what went on between BSB and Mr. Pearlman and groups labels and so forth, but as far as I'm concerned, there's at least one person in there who's intentions were to get as much money as possible, and that is just plainly SICK!

First of all, thank you for giving us the opportunity to voice our opinion about this article. When we read it, boy were we irritated! After almost 10 years of working their butts off every single day, the BSB are entitled to a break. If they want to work on solo projects, then more power to them. As far as we are concerned, it gives us fans more to love about them. While we patiently wait for the new BSB CD, we can enjoy some new music from Nick. Even when they are all old and grey, after Brian is stuck in a wheelchair and Howie has had hip replacement surgery, they will still be the Backstreet Boys and we will still love them as much as ever!!! We have seen many of you at the concerts who love them as much as we do. Thank you for standing by them as we have. To the idiot who wrote this article, check your facts... AJ, Brian Kevin, Nick and Howie will be the Backstreet Boys even if they are not touring and putting out new CD's. To the people of Backstreet.net, again thank you for the opporutunity to react to the most ridiculous article we have ever read.

The lost boys???? I didn't realize they were lost! Did anyone else??? I think they are five very talented guys with amazing voices. As a die-hard BSB fan I was well aware of most of this stuff before I read the article. The only thing that irratated me in this article was all the talk about Nick leaving the group. Just because he's doing a solo album does not mean he's leaving the BSB behind. I think it's great that he's getting the chance to do this on his own and I can't wait to hear it. I also can't wait to hear the new BSB album that they are working on as a GROUP!!! I think in light of all of this they should call the new album "Standing Strong"!I have no problems with the fact that Brian and Kevin are married and AJ is engaged, and if Leighanne wants to voice her opinions she has every right too. Everything these guys have gone through can only make them stronger. Honestly I don't know how they're able to deal with it all. I can't imagine it's easy living your life in the piblic eye and having everything you do examined under a microscope, and yet they are always honest. I will always support the BSB's in whatever they do. After all they've done for there fans they deserve it. Keep it up guys.

Mr. Azoff said that he had signed on to help the band members with their commitment to a long-term career. Whether that will happen remains to be seen, but Mr. Azoff is unconcerned with the current debate over tensions between the band and Mr. Carter. "Whether Nick is in the band or not, it doesn't frighten me," Mr. Azoff said. "The Eagles changed members three times, and it didn't hurt their career."

Honestly guys, we all know you're not supposed to take the media seriously... I caught them fudging a bunch of facts in that article, if they can't even get the facts straight, such as the date the tickets for the B&B tour went on sale, how can we even take what they say seriously?? It's all for attention.

It is disgusting what people will do for money, This article made me ashamed to be part of the human race. Who treats people like that? "Could you please schedual your open heart surgery around the tour because we're not making enough money off of you and we want you to risk your health and your future well-being so that we can take advantage of you and screw you blind." WTF? These 5 guys deserve so much more respect then they get not just for their music but for all the shit they have gone through. I'm have never been more proud to call myself a fan of theirs. They will get what they deserve. i have faith in that. KTBSPA

Man. all I can say is that the BSB are WAY too good for the Music Industry. I makes me so sad to read about the way that they have been treated when THEY are the reason that so many other people have had success. I mean the article said that The Firm used the profits it made from BSB to make its self into the Empire that it is today. And Jive was not a very big label before the BSB became successful. The BSB were what allowed them to expand into the most successful independent label in history. Without BSB they wouldn't have gotten so big. Also BSB helped Mtv with TRL, and all the Teen magazines, and just the Music Industry in general by bringing back the Pop trend to music. Just remember that before BSB hit it big the Music Industry was in a major slump. I know that this might sound arrogant or biased since I'm a BSB fan but frankly it's the truth. These people who have been taking advantage of them and manipulating them should really be thanking them for everything that they have done. Instead they are just treated like disposable waste. It honestly makes me sick. I am so proud to be a fan of these five guys. They have survived this long in this brutal business and I know that they are capable of a truly legendary career. I have never looked up to them more than I do now after reading this article. KTBPA

I think that each of the members of BSB will eventually do solo projects whether it be acting, producing, writing or singing - BUT they will always be the most successful Pop band ever. I hope they will continue to make music together - but if not, I will still follow their careers and remain a fan forever. As for Leighanne Littrell - she does have a right to show and voice an interest in her husband's career - any other wife would of their husband would whether he be in show business or not. Just think about when and if they have children - His Family will come first. Mine would.
