The Backstreet Boys. Five Guys just wanting to sing. THe Lost boys...that title makes me sick. THey never would have been lost if it wasn't for the greed and selfishness of other suck@ss human beings.Backstreet opened the pop world back up for the 90's and people don't realize that. Sad enough, since BSB passed up that Disney special, that did open the door for *n Sync. But you have to look at the bigger picture. Pearlman probably had thad planned for a while..dry BSB out...bring in something new and younger. *duh* Pearlman is greedy, selfish, control freak. The Backstreet Boys will be back and I don't know about you guys, but I'll be here to support them 100%. *~peace~* KTBPA

The article hurt a bit because it was so brutally honest. Yes, "Black and Blue" sold big numbers, but the sucess was overlooked because of the sucess of *NSYNC's record. Releasing "Chapter One" I believe was a big mistake. The whole idea of a greatest hits package so soon is silly. I worry about Nick and his solo project in general. You have to wonder how the rest of the guys really feel about this. Sometimes I'm scared we may never see a new backstreet record. How many times has this album been bumped up? Now they're saying the beginning of next year? Come on now! Nick's album comes out in October and he wants to do a tour too. So, when are they gonna find time early next year to cram a group album into the mix? Don't get me wrong, I love my boys so much, but I must admit I'm worried. I've heard these break-up rumors for years now, and it has never bothered me before. But, it does now. I just hope I wrong. But I will always ktbspa.

personally i really think backstreet boys are way more successful then nsync will ever be!!!! first of all i have my mom and grandmother loving backsteet boys music so at least not only kids listen but so do adults and old people. for nsync they are only known to the kids and teenagers that do not have good taste in music. also backstreet boys are known world wide!!! nsync isnt! so what if nsync is more popular in the states! thats just one country! if you go to europe or any other countries you will see that backstreet boys are loved there and nsync isnt even known there! and if they do end doesnt mean that they still arent famous? i think everyone knows who they are by now! and i must say they have probably had the best time of their lives singing and recording songs for us fans to listen to. they have touched many fans lives and for that i thank them. Nick,Kevin,Brian,Howie, and A.J. i want to thank you so much for being the best singers in the world! you have record music that has touched my heart! I hope you all have wonderful families and wonderful lives in the future and i wish you all the best! just one thing never give up on your talent which is singing!

Love Always

I dont think that the end is soon for bsb. They are staying together they are just doing some stuff that they have wanted to do. NSTINK is taking a break and i dont see any hurtful artiles about them! backstreet boys will never end they have said so them selves and nick is just doing what he has wanted to, going solo. I think that their next albm will be great and everyone will start to love them again. Just wait

the end isnt any time soon, dont say that, how can you just come out saying that, You have to support them to the end, which isnt now. Have you ppl noticed they always come out with these stupid rticles before the band comes out with the new album, its to freak everyone out. OH and i hate how they say black and blue wasnt a success, hell yeah it was, it was alot better than any other band can do. They just have igh expectation for them because they are the backstreet boys, thats all. And in a way it was good because you have to learn from your mistakes. ktbspa now and forever

alright first of all, the name of the story already had me not liking the story too much. true they were bigger than they are now during the begining, i admit it. and not so famous anymore. but they are still around and us true fans need to support them some more and get them back to where they were before.
they guys have been messed with so many times by managers, they cant help that so much, because the managers made those decisions beside the fact the guys told them not to. so after they finally left them, they got better (hopefully) new ones. its left to us fans to give them another shot and see what it will come of it. but they need our support and know we are still behind them. if were not out buyin merchandise and cd's how are they suppose to know they are still wanted?
all im saying that this article gave a good view of what our 'boys' go through and the hardships they have. but it doesnt mean they have to be downed by any of us. they are still workin to give us good music, whether u like it or not.
but another thing i didnt like was how nick stayed back with the firm, after all the guys wanted to leave. that just got me so angry as to why he would do that. i just wanted to yell at him personally for that..hahaha.
but thanx for readin this everyone, just my opinion.

I am glad that someone wrote an article like this. I think that in this day and age with the Internet and fans being so vocal about various things that people are not kept as in the dark as when I was younger. I was a fan of Leif Garrett when I was younger and am sure that many of your saw his Behind the Music program on VH-1 if not catch it next time it is on. My point being is I had no idea what this guy went through. As any fan of the Backstreet Boys we take the good with the bad and that is part of life and I think it is great that the younger fans know how things work in the world of entertainment and it doesn't just happen in music it happens in all things entertainment. Life isn't all rosey in Hollywood and that is good thing for people of any age to know. I know that makes me appreciate the Backstreet Boys even more for their tenacity to continue to bring us all quality music and to continue to be a group in general. As for the Backstreet Boys continuing as a group as we know it or continuing at all well, like many good things there comes a time to end it...as we have known it...but that doesn't mean that is the end all together.

shut your face you stuck up b**ch. I think this article is just trying to freak people out just as someone said, sorry i forgot.lol. umm, i think theyll do perfefctly fine with nick being solo AND with them. Now worries. But WHAT THE HELL are they saying about losing members and being perfectly fine. No i doubt after 10 years of being together and suddenly one of them leaves would be fine. It would be ruined if that happened, cuz it wouldnt be the real bsb. BsB is and always will be alive, I dunno what your trying to say Nikki. shut up. ktbspa. Dont worry bout it. We just gotta be there for them and theyll be fine.

This article was very interesting. Every great band in music history goes through some hiatus in their respective careers, there are highs than lows then highs again. The backstreet boys aren't over, not by a long shot. The way the popular music is luming towards heavier, edgier rock music only goes to show pop has been put on the back burner. But as long as twelve yearold girls love the swooning of a young guy, and 20 somethings love the feelings a hot young blonde guy puts in her heart the Boys will come back. There glory has just begun, They will be the rolling stones of pop. At 52 drunk and high, they'll sing and dance on stage better than ever. Bash them all you want, say there over but remember one thing 10 years ago everyone said they wouldn't last a year. obviously they have and 10 years from now i have a feeling this same conversation will be taking place again.

I believe that the events that were mentioned in this article did contribute to the standing of Backstreet's current career. I think marriage, alcoholism, and all of the problems with their record company, may have caused ppl just to lose interest.

I must admit that when they first broke out, I really enjoyed their music, but now with the hip hop scene growing and rock returning, the whole teen pop scene is dying down. And I think that artists such as Avril Lavigne are what should be going on right now. It is partly the guys fault to their dying success. They are just getting older and the fan base is dying down now.

I agree with the article. The Backstreet Boys are over. You can sit here and say KTBSPA all day and it wont mean anything. The Backstreet boys ruined their own careers. Marriage...drinkin..and drugs dont mix with the kinda group theyre in. Point blank! Its over. They wont ever be what they were b4. Its time to let someone else shine. Yall can hate on Nsync all day and say theyre not as good...but lets check the record sales, they say somethin different. And ur right...BSB have the right to get married...but they cant complain when they lose fans and they cant pull that whole true fan stuff either. A true fan is anyone who buys ur music. So I think every1 just needs to move on. BsB as we all knew it is dead.

OMG! I was reading it and it just made me so mad! Although I just LOVED it when they kept trashing NSTYNC saying how they're coping BSB! I thought that BSB were okay... NICK SAID THEY WERE! OMG if they break up I'll DIE! I LOVE THEM ALL AND IT WOULDN'T BE THE SAME WITHOUT NICK! It would suck if he left... we'd lose a lot of fans... IT DOES MATTER STUPID!! THAT LAST COMMENT SUX!

HEY BSB FANS!

I was a little surprised at this article. I was under the impression that all was well and the guys were taking a little break and doing their own things. I am now even more confused. Also I am tired of the music indusry as well as some local radio stations here in Orlando not giving the BSB the love. They forget without BSB there would have been no Nsync or any Other Orlando based "boy Band". But despite what is going on I support thr BSB in all they do and hope they reappear in the music charts soon cause I miss them! Also remember you cannot always believe what you say. BSB fans we need to stick together and support the boys as we have always done. And unlike Nsync fans, we know the boys appreciate it cause they tell us so. Long live the BSB, We are behind you no matter what!

I don't have much to say... I do, but it will take to long and it's pointless to begin with. I just wanna say that this article is probably freaking a lot of fans out, which is unecessary. The amount of support these 5 guys have in beyond believable, and so in the end, they're gonna do absolutely amazing. Te media likes to do this. they make a big deal out of nothing, and really, there's nothing to fuss over right now. These guys are in the music biz. It's never easy, nothing ever goes smoothly, and right now, (assuming everything said is correct) they're just going over a bumpy patch in the road.
I'd like to recommend to try and stay away from the tabloid junk. It just gets ya upset for nothing. So, to end this pointless comment, I'd like to say "Keep the Backstreet Pride Alive" and honestly, if you think positively, positive things will happen. that's a promise.

I read the NY Times article and am glad that even a horribly reported article introduces the BSB fans to the business reality of the music industry. What the Boys have had to deal with up to now is only a small part of a larger movement in the entertainment world of consolidation and monopolization. What and how Kevin describes their position is so true: business demands on one side and artistic endeavor on the other. What the fans must always realize is fan dollars speak the loudest. It is the only thing the business mongols understand. So you show thumbs up with your dollar. Votes and presence matter but what you do with the dollar speaks mountains.

On a personal note what I feel for the Boys is devotion as a fan. I love their music (even if the RIAA audioclip nazis made this website remove all their wonderful unheard works!!!)and I like the Guys. They've worked hard for where they are, even their downtime. Nick is doing the right thing to develope his musical talent, to record and promote his work. It will position him as well as the Group well with the fans while "male music" is currently confined to the single performers of John Mayer, Peter Yorn, Jack Johnson and all the rap/metal/hip bands out there. Everything has it's time and now is the time for BSB to make the music and the album they want. In another email to a BSB group I said that if anything, BSB fans are patient and will wait for them. Like a big glorious ocean, we accept all that is BSB, bathing it in love.

First of all: it's moments like these you realize how much money can effect people in so many different ways, and often times, it's a disappointing kind of actions they take...I don't know anything of what went on between BSB and Mr. Pearlman and groups labels and so forth, but as far as I'm concerned, there's at least one person in there who's intentions were to get as much money as possible, and that is just plainly SICK!

Secondly, comparison between BSB and NSync: frankly, there is none. BSB is a vocal group, while NSync consists of Justin-LEAD singer backed up by 4 other guys.

Whatever anyone say about BSB or Nick about him going solo: these people have minds of their own. They were given that to make their own decisions and figure out what makes them happy and what is best for themselves because if they don't, then money-grabbing sharks will just eat them alive as much as they can. So for Nick choosing the path that he's doing, quit ganging up on the guy for having the balls to stand out for what he wants and pursuing his own dreams and let the guy be. That's what true fans are, despite it all, despite all the money and publicity involved, or lacking thereof, a true fan will stand by their idol through thick and thin.

BSB have been through hell, yeah we all know that. Why add to it by claiming how "wrong Nick's decisions are" for going solo. How it's not financially good for the group...as far as I'm concerned, money is just a bunch of papers given worth to, not by anyone of higher power, but by people. Dreams come first, and let BSB/Nick get that!

First of all, thank you for giving us the opportunity to voice our opinion about this article. When we read it, boy were we irritated! After almost 10 years of working their butts off every single day, the BSB are entitled to a break. If they want to work on solo projects, then more power to them. As far as we are concerned, it gives us fans more to love about them. While we patiently wait for the new BSB CD, we can enjoy some new music from Nick. Even when they are all old and grey, after Brian is stuck in a wheelchair and Howie has had hip replacement surgery, they will still be the Backstreet Boys and we will still love them as much as ever!!! We have seen many of you at the concerts who love them as much as we do. Thank you for standing by them as we have. To the idiot who wrote this article, check your facts... AJ, Brian Kevin, Nick and Howie will be the Backstreet Boys even if they are not touring and putting out new CD's. To the people of Backstreet.net, again thank you for the opporutunity to react to the most ridiculous article we have ever read.

The lost boys???? I didn't realize they were lost! Did anyone else??? I think they are five very talented guys with amazing voices. As a die-hard BSB fan I was well aware of most of this stuff before I read the article. The only thing that irratated me in this article was all the talk about Nick leaving the group. Just because he's doing a solo album does not mean he's leaving the BSB behind. I think it's great that he's getting the chance to do this on his own and I can't wait to hear it. I also can't wait to hear the new BSB album that they are working on as a GROUP!!! I think in light of all of this they should call the new album "Standing Strong"!I have no problems with the fact that Brian and Kevin are married and AJ is engaged, and if Leighanne wants to voice her opinions she has every right too. Everything these guys have gone through can only make them stronger. Honestly I don't know how they're able to deal with it all. I can't imagine it's easy living your life in the piblic eye and having everything you do examined under a microscope, and yet they are always honest. I will always support the BSB's in whatever they do. After all they've done for there fans they deserve it. Keep it up guys.

BSB's #1 forever......KTBSPA!!!!!

Mr. Azoff said that he had signed on to help the band members with their commitment to a long-term career. Whether that will happen remains to be seen, but Mr. Azoff is unconcerned with the current debate over tensions between the band and Mr. Carter. "Whether Nick is in the band or not, it doesn't frighten me," Mr. Azoff said. "The Eagles changed members three times, and it didn't hurt their career."
-----------------------------------------------
Obviously something is very wrong since Mr. Azoff has taken the time to comment. And he is correct in his statement. The real voice that carries the band is AJ Mclean but it requires the rest of the members to make the Backstreet Boys work....with or without Nick. There are many 4 men group (past and present) that are great vocal harmony groups.
