I arrived at the Winnipeg Arena and was sooooo super excited for the show! Aaron Carter came out at 7:30pm and he was so adorable! First he pumped up the crowd by singing "Crush On You" and then made us boogie down with "Shake It".

There was a 10 minute intermission thingie and the Boys came out with a BOOOOOOMMMM! They all looked SOOOOO amazing! They first sang "That's The Way I Like It" and did their funky dance moves on these podiums.

Next they all came down these stairs and started singing "Hey Mr DJ (Keep Playing This Song For Me)" and everyone went crazy! Next they sang a song by a different group and they all had solos except for Nick! Poor boy! Then they each came out for their own solos.

Howie rose from this trap door and sang a song and threw roses to the crowd. First AJ did "Lay Down Beside Me" and it was really good! Then Kev came out looking all buff and sang "Nobody But You". After that, Brian came out and did the song that he wrote "That's What She Said". And finaly my baby Nick came out and did the most amazing song..."Heaven In Your Eyes".

After that, they pumped us up some more! Nick sang "Let's Have a Party" while the others sang the chorus with him! They then started in on "All I Have To Give" and "I'll Never Break Your Heart".

We were suposed to bring bubbles for "I'll Never Break You Heart" but I seemed to be the only person who brought any! Next they sang the beautiful song "Anywhere for You" and then "Darlin'". Throughout the show they would change their clothes or take off another layer. They introduced their hit "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)" and the band purposely messed up the music so the boys took over! Nick on the drums, Brian on the Congos, Kev on the Keyboards, Howie on the guitar and AJ on the Bass and they played them while singing.

They laughed as if it was over and then came back out to sing "As Long As You Love Me" and did I mention they all looked amazing? (Especially MY BABY NICK!) They left again and came back singing "Get Down (Your The One For Me)" and "We've Got It Goin' On"

They left as if they were leaving for good but then parts of the video for "Everybody" came on and we knew they were coming back! At the end of that they were all wheeled out in coffins and were all in different positions and they sang their hit "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" and it was so good and they did their funky moves the whole show!

I WOULD GIVE IT INFINITY STARS OUT OF 5!!!

Ok. I went to the winnipeg concert on august 20th. There was like a party there the whole day. I got there at about 7 in the morning and this local radio station had someone following the bsb around Winnipeg and they were broadcasting live from this parking lot across from the arena where they were performing.

The BSB were in Winnipeg all day that day so the guy that was following them around was telling us where they were and stuff like that and there was all these girls following them around too.

At about like 5:00 or soemthing (the concert was at 7:30, we were there all day with like no eating or anything) a whole bunch of girls saw the tour bus coming so we all ran to the fence which protected the outside backstage area. There was about 4 thousand girls at the fence and me and my three friends just happened to get to the front right.

Aaron and Bob Carter came out of the bus and everyone was screaming and everything and then all of a sudden me and my friend screamed out lets break the fence!

So everyone was like pushing on the fence and then all of a sudden it ripped out of the cement and fell over and everyone ran. About 4 girls got trampled as we chased Aaron. There was a lot of security guards there and I probably made it the furthest,. I got right in front of the bus but then the security guard grabbed me and was pushing me back and I was screaming and punching him in the head but I couldnt get passed him so he was like dragging me back behind the fence.

Later I found out that the four girls that got trampled - three of them were just injured with broken bones and stuff like that but one of them was in intensive care and almost died. I heard that she was like in a coma and they still don't know if she is going to live.

All we could hear was the loud roar of 23,000 screaming fans.

Before the concert, they were waving at us through the windows from backstage. Some of us kept quiet to treasure this moment as them staring at "us". Yes, I'm talking about the five hottest and most talented guys in the world. NICK, BRIAN, AJ, KEVIN, and HOWIE, the Backstreet Boys.

First, the director came out and tried to settle us down by telling us all to sit down. Like, yeah right!! Who would sit down if in a total amount of an hour the BACKSTREET BOYS would come out and be face to face with us all. It's like a dream come true.

Then, AJ came out and the crowd went absolutly WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He started by welcoming us all, and then about 5 minutes later, he said " OK, now, give it up for AC and 95 South!" And then out popped Aaron and his dancers, Keith and Darrell. Aaron was acting all funky and saying stuff like " Wow, you guys are really high up there" ect, and then they all sang Crush On You. Afterwards, Aaron was like " Give it up for Darrell" and the crowd a hushed a cheer for Darrell. Aaron acted a little disappointed. Then again, Aaron was like " Give it up for DARRELL!!!!!" and the whole crowd screamed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then, his last performance was Shake It. And then just before they left, Aaron introduced the Backstreet Boys!!!!!!!!!

Before the Boys came out, we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and then finally BOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!! Fireworks went off everwhere and the crowd went incredibly wild. They started off by singing That's The Way I Like It. And, my God!!!! We couldn't believe that we were actually staring in person to the Backstreet Boys. Not in some magazine, or book, but actually in person!!! When they all did their solo's, it was amazing!!! I mean, first off was Howie. He was incredible! He threw out roses for the crowd, which we caught, and sang a beautiful song, in which we cannot remember all that clearly. Sorry! So, and then Kevin came out, he was funky!!! And then Nick, and then AJ and finally Brian. Brian eyed us a few times. He also picked up our stuffed tiger that we through onto the stage and started head banging it. It was amazing!!! Throughout the show, AJ would occasionally throw out a tennis ball into the crowd.

Then, about 6 songs later, the left. Just abandoned the stage. We all thought it was the end of the August 18, 1998 show. But then about 5-8 minutes later, BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!! Coffins entered the stage. Everyone was exchanging comments like "What the....?" ect, and then the coffins opened. And staring at us were 5 incredibly "dead-like" bodies. And then " EVERYBODY, ROCK YOUR BODY........." it was them for one last song. It was totally amazing! Nick was supposed to take off his shirt, but instead he let an occasional "teasing" by lifting up his shirt and slightly pulling down his pants to reveal the top of his boxer-briefs while singing "Am I sexual?" he was so amazingly hot!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!!

Well, and then, I guess they thanked us for having them, and left. Alot of people were bawling their eyes out realizing they were actually leaving Edmonton to go onto some other area.

Well, they are supposed to be coming back next year, but rumours are spreading that there will be no General Admission because there were 50+ people who got hurt. We say that if someone wants to be in the oval, they have to expect that if you're small, you probably going to get hurt, ect.

Lastly, we guess that the right thing to do is to say the following-

"Backstreet Will Be Back, Alright!!"

Boy Oh Boy

The Backstreet Boys' concert was all the heart-melting, stomach-fluttering hormonefest you'd expect from the mega-hot teen sensastion. The superpopular American vocal group could have sung like frogs and it probably wouldn't have made a difference to their hoards of devoted fans. But the sensational Boys did, in fact, put on a spectacular and memorable show. The squeals and tears began in line as thousands of hysterical fans crammed against metal gates in the mad rush to get into the soldout show at the Commonwealth Stadium. "You could call it well-managed chaos," said event security manager Rick Thrall. "These young concert-goers........they hear the sound check and they think the show's starting without them so anxiety runs high and they crush together." Scores of Backstreet-clad fans emerged from a lineup a little crushed and a little, but there were no injuries serious enough to keep any of the 23,000 adoring fans from the event.

The endless squeals went up a pitch when Backstreet Boy Nick's 10-year old borther Aaron Carter bounced on the stage. The peppy pint-sized performer and two backup dancers got the crowd pumping their arms and wiggling their torsos to Aaron's hit single Shake It. Twenty minutes after Aaron, amid deafening screams of "Backstreet, Backstreet," the Boys emerged on-stage through fountains of flaming pyrotechnic lights and blinding explosions. Opening with their hit That's The Way I Like It, the heartthrobs had their enamoured fans clapping, jumping and dancing instantly. Besides their usual assortment of love tunes and bubblegum R&B, the quintet belted out an impressive cover of Shai's a cappella song If I Ever Fall In Love. Their choreography was dually eyebrow-rasing. The Boys busted funky smooth yet robotic dance moves to a medly of the latest in hip-hop and R&B tunes, proving they can get down with the best of them. The screaming crescended every time the boys did their trademark pelvic thrust and whenever they teasingly opened their shirts to reveal a little skin.

Some members of the usually vocal-only group also displayed their multiple musical talents by trying their hands at instruments. Sparkled eyelashed batted wildly as Brian played guitar during the love song That's What She Said. As the Boys each took turns crooning love solos, thousands of puckered lips mouthed every word. Packs of girls lunged after roses Howie D. threw into the crowd and hundreds grasped desperately to get their hands on a piece of confettie to take home as a souvenir. Many fans came equipped with binoculars and cameras flashed in desperate attempts to preserve the precious moments forever. Some had the name of their favorite Backstreet Boy painted scrawled across their face and hundreds waved hand-drawn heart-laced placards in the hopes of catching their idol's attention. Teen and pre-teen girls made up about 90 per cent of the crowd, although there was the odd boy reluctantly dragged out by his girlfriend. But the girls came dolled up and dressed to impress despite the lack of testosterone in the crowd. "If we see any guys in the crowd, we won't exactly hesitate to give them a second look," said Rosalyn Derosa, 14. "But we're here for the Backstreet Boys."

"We'll get their attention somehow," said her friend and fellow adoring fan Claire Williams, 14. "Even if it means slingshotting ourselves onto the stage." The Boys finished the night with three encores, including a ripper version of Backstreet's Back. And in fact, at the end, that was the lads' promise to Edmonton: "Backstreet will be back."

Boys will be boys - Teary-eyed screaming fans greet the Backstreet Boys

They screamed and screamed and screamed.

Did I mention that they screamed?

A massive sea of pre-pubescent females descended on Commonwealth Stadium to hear the fab five from Florida who have stolen their hearts.

With the ceaseless roar of their heartfelt shrieks and declarations of undying love for the Backstreet Boys, one's not sure just how much was really heard, but the girls seemed thrilled with the night.

Love was in the air as the boys performed their highly choreographed gig and the yells could surely be heard for kilometres when they unleashed their hit, Quit Playing Games (With My Heart).

Thousands of screams - like it ever stopped - rose a decibel as each Backstreet Boy greeted the crowd, which was mainly female.

But it was action these girls wanted. And the Boys - Howie D., A.J., Nick, Kevin and Brian - didn't disappoint with a packaged performance that boasted high-tech fireworks and even a tossing out of roses by Howie (sparking a rush by the fans).

Not bothering to tout instruments through much of the concert, these guys are all about groovin'.

With hip-gyrating moves, the Boys shook their bodies much to the delight of the delirious, fresh-faced audience.

The squeals escalated when a few of these hunky guys decided to ditch their dusty rose jackets and reveal buff chests (maybe there's something to this group after all).

"This is the best night of my life!'' gushed Sherry Teske, 12, who bought two $35 T-shirts.

"I love them,'' declared friend Colleen Alexandrovich, 15, as she jumped up and down.

Their comments echoed the crowd's attitude as they cheered on this clean-cut group.

Flowers and stuffed bears flew on to the stage. Thousands of adoring fans also came armed with disposable cameras that they snapped away.

Dressed in groovy outfits - some looked suspiciously similar to spacesuits - they went through several costume changes through the night.

While I found their tunes too poppish and bland, that clearly wasn't the impression of the fans.

Brian won the hearts and sparked a few tears when he dragged out an acoustic guitar and sang That's What She Said.

The dancin' and music started with 10-year-old Aaron Carter, little brother of Nick. Along with two dancers, this tiny blond dynamo took to the stage in a 15-minute pop performance that had the girls screaming, especially with Crush On You.

"You guys are No. 1,'' he told the crowd of 22,000.

Backstreet Boys and Aaron Carter fill the Saddledome with screaming fans

The time: Last night.

The place: Saddledome.

The cast: Backstreet Boys -- Kevin (sign Libra); AJ (height: 5'9"); Howie D. (marital status: single); Nick (pet golden retriever named Simba and three cats); Brian (birthplace: Lexington, Ky.)

The event: Backstreet's Back, oh great.

Florida's golden boys reduced thousands upon thousands of pre-teen and teenage girls to blubbering masses.

Those girls in turn, reduced several middle-aged mothers and fathers to tears with their almost unbearable ear-splitting screams.

I thought I had heard the loudest display of vocal-power ever at last year's Bush concert -- also at the 'Dome -- but I was terribly mistaken.

Those people who complained about the noise level at the Folk Festival would have probably been hospitalized had they lived anywhere near the Saddledome last night.

And this was even before the Backstreet Boys set foot on stage.

When the five heart-throbs finally hit the stage, they did so with dramatic style.

Clad in an assortment of silvery jackets, black pants with red stripes and racing gloves, Mr. Cool (AJ), Mr. Body Beautiful (Kevin), Latin Lover (Howie), Hyper Man (Nick) and Mr. Joker (Brian), had the crowd dancing in the aisle from the very first song, That's The Way I Like It.

The beginning of the show also featured a special birthday tribute to a Backstreet Mom.

AJ brought his mother, Denise, on stage, presented her with a birthday cake and encouraged the sold-out 17,000-strong crowd sing her Happy Birthday.

Fans were all too happy to oblige.

Love them or hate them, you can't say the Backstreet Boys aren't entertaining.

Their synchronized dance moves, smooth-talk and wise-cracking are endearing, even if the music is sometimes weak.

As far as boy bands go, the Backstreet Boys can definitely lay claim to being the current kings of the genre.

They are certainly not the one-hit wonders that many critics of the band had hinted at, early in their career.

In fact, singles like As Long As You Love Me and Everybody (Backstreet's Back) are good catchy pop tunes.

The band's vocals were a little rough during the first couple songs and they looked a tad tired, especially when shown close-up on the big screen monitors.

But the vocal harmonies were still strong, considering the amount of dancing, jumping and general acrobatics.

The show itself, was well choreographed with no one inparticular standing out (unless you count Nick, 'cuz he's the cutest).

The show faltered only when they slowed things down to let the five of them perform solo songs, most of which were ballads.

Although, the girls didn't seem to mind seeing their favorites spotlighted for a few minutes.

B-rock (Brian) showed his tender side when he hauled out an acoustic guitar for That's What She Said -- a sort of Backstreet Boys Unplugged.

Nick's little bro Aaron Carter opened the show with a short but interesting set.

The precocious 10 year old got the crowd worked-up with his hit Crush On You.

His well-rehearsed, two-song set only lasted 15-minutes, but included some pretty impressive dance moves -- a towering accomplishment for a kid who can't be much more than 4-ft. tall.

It was cute watching Carter Jr. trip over his over-sized pants, at least he can get away with it for now.

The Sun's preview article -- in Friday's Get Out -- quoted Aaron saying he was a fan Beanie Babies. That story seemed to prompt some of his fans to toss at least two-dozen of the stuffed creatures as offerings to the pint-sized star.

This was THE BEST concert I've ever been to. I remember it like it was yesterday!! Okay, we got to the Saddledome at about 6:30, right when they started letting people in. We were worried about our seats because the tickets said "POSS SITELINE" which we were told means that we might not be able to see. Well, boy were they wrong!! We ended up having 4th row, right beside the stage!!! There were no floor seats in front of us or anything. When we first got in I went and got a 98 tour book, the making of Everybody book and a dog tag.

Then we went and saw our AWESOME seats!!! When we got there some girls who were sitting beside us were looking under their seats. When we asked them what they were doing, they said that if you looked between the cracks in the steps, you could see backstage!! Sure enough, we could!! My friend saw Howie and Aaron Carter! Ironically enough, every time I looked up, one of them would come by. Then a little while after that (this is still before the concert started) AJ's mom was right in front of us, down by the stage. We started yelling "Denise, Denise" but she pretty much ignored us. Then Carter Brown from Power 107 came out and said thanks for coming, etc. Then AJ (yes, THE AJ) came on and introduced Aaron Carter! We saw Aaron Carter come on stage (because of where we were sitting we could see him before everyone else could). He sang 2 songs, Crush On You and Shake It. Between the 2 songs, he introduced us to his 2 dancers. The audience didn't cheer very loud for them so Aaron was like "Okay, nice try, now this time cheer for them like you would cheer for my big brother." and everyone SCREAMED. When he was over, I went and got a BSB scarf. Then me and my friends started cheering "Backstreet Boys, Backstreet Boys" wegot everyone in our section cheering and eventually almost all of the Saddledome started!! It was the coolest thing!

Then some news camaras came out to film the audience. Well, my neighbour happens to be a camara man for CFCN News and I asked him if he would film us, and he did!! We were on the news the next day holding up our banner (it was glow in the dark and said BSB MARRY ME). Anyway, then Aaron Carter came out to sit by the stage with some lady who looked like an older version of his mom and everyone in my section was like "Aaron, Aaron" he looked up at us and waved and the lady with him was telling us to be quiet so that we wouldn't attract too much attention to him. He sat right in front of us, by the stage for the whole show. Then finally, the lights were dimmed and the band started playing "That'sThe Way I Like It". And then the boys themselves shot up from these tube things!! It was sooo exciting. I couldn't believe that The Backstreet Boys were right in there!!! Then after that they introduced them selves and then brought AJ's mom on stage and sang Happy Birthday to her. They got the whole audience to sing!! I saw it on the news and it sounded really cool!!

Anyway, then they sang an 'a capella song and then Hey MR DJ. Then they each did their solos. Brian's was the cutest cuz he played his guitar!! Then they sang Let's Have A Party. During that song Brian came over to talk to someone on the ground by the stage (it looked like some bodygaurd or stage personel or something). He was right by us!!! AJ got really horny!! He humped the stage once and was doing something to a pole!! I don't remember what order the other songs went in.

During I'll Never Break You Heart, AJ came down off the stage. Me and my friends ran down to the aisle. We were standing right at the front of 50 screaming girls. I nearly killed myself!! There was only a bar holding me up!! AJ didn't shake our hands because there were boxes in the way but he did wave to us!! Then they did 2 enchores, Get Down and We've Got It Going On. Then the played the begining of the Eveybody video and then these grim reaper guys brought out 5 coffins which spun around to reveal the Backstreet Boys!! Me and my friends made up a dance to the song and were doing it at our seats. Kevin watched us doing it. Oh yeah, Brian also sang to us and waved to us in one song, I can't remember which one. Anyway, it was the best thing that ever happened to me and I can't wait till they come back!!! Please email me if you have any questions about the concert, I love to talk about it, in case you couldn't tell!!

Pop group gives its adoring fans exactly what they want at a dream-lover screamfest of a concert.

It wasn’t enough that the Backstreet Boys left 15,000 fans-14,999 of them girls- sweaty and hormone drenched Saturday night after two hours of hunkalicious crooning at GM Place.

Saturday night’s scream-athon was Backstreet Boys’ first stop of a nine-show Canadian tour that ends in Halifax Aug.25. The Canadian shows are mere blips in a brutal schedule that takes BSB through the U.S. and over to Europe before Christmas. But on Saturday night, like sweet-talking boys the world over, they made Vancouver girls think they were the only ones in the world.

And, like the naughty boys they pretend to be, they made the girls wait. And wait. The crowds jiggled in their seats from 7:30 until 8:45, when the boys emerged from a burst of fireworks singing "That’s The Way I Like It."

Then. They Spoke.

First came Kevin Richardson, 27, the dark, chiselled, inscrutable one. Then A.J. McLean, 20, the Dennis Rodman-like bad boy with the tatoos and they dyed hair. Then smooth, ponytailed Howie Dorough, 24. The best-loved came last. Charmer Brian Littrell, 23, and blond-poster boy Nick Carter, 18, sent the noise level off the scream-o-meter. They boys didn’t have much to say beyond “God bless” and “How ya doin’ Vancouver?” but hey, words don’t matter when you’re in love.

They started out in shiny red, black and silver nylon coveralls and jackets and wore red satin pyjamas for a round of underwhelming solo numbers notable only for Brian’s acoustic version of "That’s What She Said," from their new album Backstreet’s Back.

A.J. did the most pelvic thrusting. Howie, who in 20 years could be the ultimate lounge lizard, threw flowers into the audience and winked every time the video camera zoomed in for a close-up. Nick stretched out single notes, stopping and starting to grace his worshippers with maximum face-time on the giant video screens.

The show’s staging seemed downright ragged after the pulsing energy and seamless choreography of Janet Jackson’s show last week, but the energy lifted off after the boys commandeered the band’s instruments for "Quit Playing Games". The boys proved again and again that, yes, they can sing and, yes, they work hard for the money.

The romantic of "All I Have To Give" was knee-wobblingly sweet. Kevin brought down the house when he went into the audience on I’ll Never Break Your Heart. Mega-hit "As Long As You Love Me" was followed by the night’s best choreography, with the boys doing some very impressive tricks with folding chairs.

A.J. hit his stride in the boys’ fabulously energetic "Get Down (You’re The One For Me)" and "We’ve Got It Going On." Then, the grand finale. First, BSB’s new video played on the giant screens. They the boys wheeled onstage in giant coffins, springing out to deliver a killer mega-dance version of "Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)" that rocked every last little body in the house and unleashed every last scream when Nick sang: “Am I sexual?”

Best singer? Brian. Worst dancer? Nick. Best personality? AJ. Most handsome? Kevin. Cutest smile? Brian. Most conceited? Nick. Best showbiz move Backstreet Boys have mastered? Always leave them wanting more.

By Ricohchet

In the guys versus girls, Spice Girls and BSB, the Backstreet Boys easily swept up the competition. For the S. girls, all they did was prove they have no real talent at all, whereas the BSB proved that they are, indeed well worth the $41.25 the tickets cost. The BSB proved they are indeed incredibly talented, and not just a bunch of pretty faces.

If anyone asks me, the Backstreet Boys are far more worthy of the recogition the Spice Girls recieved. The BSB gave a powerful show, complete with a solo song performed by each, my personal fave being Nick's knee-weakening ballad 'Heaven in your eyes', and their amazing a cappella harmonies that made them who they are today.

They also proved they are all incredibly good dancers, although much of that praise belongs to Fatima. The Backstreet Boys are truly one of the best bands of today, and hopefully of tomorrow.

It all started last year, when Backstreet Boys hit the U.S (for the second time). They weren't really that big when I started to like them, but they were getting there. I heard of Backstreet Boys ever since like 1996, but never really thought about them since they were only big in Europe.

Who would've thought that THE Backstreet Boys would come to Seattle in their U.S tour. I first found out in the end of May. I could not wait for the tickets to go on sale. Finally they went on sale 9:00 in the morning on April 11. I would never forget that day. My friend and I (who's more into Hanson than BSB) didn't get there too early, probably because of a lottery drawing. We each drew a ticket and turns out that I was first in line. Finally 9:00 came and we got handed the tickets. I was so into finding out where we sat, that I never realized what seats we really had....FRONT ROW!!!! Who would've thought! I was so shocked and speechless, I couldn't say anything. The sad part was that we had to wait about 4 months for the concert to come. I couldn't wait. I would not let anyone touch the tickets...they were too precious.

Finally August 14 came, I felt kind of sick actually because I was so nervous that I was gonna see the guys I've been waiting to see for 4 months. It took forever to get into the arena, but it was worth the wait. I felt kinda special that we were walking all the way to the front row (it may seem kinda selfish, but u would think the same, wouldn't you!). We waited for about 45 min. My friend and I, during that time, went to go see our friends, who had nosebleed seats (bought tickets a couple of days before the concert) and I wanted to buy some posters.

Finally, the arena went black and the shilouettes of Aaron Carter, Keith and Daryll??(back up singers and dancers) shimmered on stage. A loud shriek of girls filled the arena. I was so ecstatic...Aaron Carter, WOW!!! Aaron sang "Crush on You" and "Shake IT". After Aaron, a group called S.O.A.P and Jimmy Ray (which I got to shake his hand during a performance) came on.

We had to wait another half an hour for Backstreet Boys to come on. All of a sudden the arena went black (again) and "That's the Way I like It" came on. I couldn't hold my legs still, they kept on shaking, this adrenaline just went through me and I couldn't keep still. POOF!!! The pyros went of and there was Nick, Howie, Kevin, Brian, A.J. ON STAGE!!!! I was so excited, I finally got to see them! They opened up with a dance routine to various songs. Throughout the concert they sang "That's the way I Like it" "Let's Have a Party" "All I have to Give" "Quit Playing Games" (played instruments) "As long as You Love me" and much more. They each had their own solos too! Their ending finale was "Everybody (Backstreets Back)". The pyros were awesome.

It was so sad to see them go, but who would've thought it wasn't over. When we were going home, we stopped at a stop light. All of a sudden police lights were flashing, we were like what!!! Those were to police escorts to their two tour buses. they were right behind us, but ran the red light. They were like 2 feet away from us!! I was so happy again that I accidentally crushed the poster, oh well, it survived!!!

I'll never forget that night, It was one of the best things that's ever happened. It'll always be imbedded in my mind.........

I guess all the exitement started on April 11, 1998, my 18th birthday. This was the day that tickets went on sale. My best friend and I got great seats, and the wait until August was torture.

On August 14, my best friend's car pulled into my driveway at 10:00am. Then we drove to Seattle, which takes about an hour. We left our stuff at her grandma's house, and then ran off to explore the city.

We went to Key Arena at 6:00pm. There were already tons of people there. We saw Aaron Carter and hsi dancers, showing off for the crowd outside. At 7:00, the doors opened, and everyone rushed inside. We found our seats in the 22nd row from the front. The view of the stage was perfect.

Soon after we had gotten settled, the lights went down, and an announcer came out, followed by A.J. I screamed! They announced Aaron Carter, and the show began. After Aaron Carter performed, we saw S.O.A.P, and then Jimmy Ray. They were all good.

After a 45 minute wait, the lights went down, and the music began. There were fireworks and the guys popped up onto the stage. The crowd went wild as they launched into "That's The Way I Like It". To be completely honest, I don't remember all the songs they sang, but I know their solos were awesome, and they finished up with a medley of "Everybody (Backstreet's Back), "We've Got It Goin On", and "Get Down".

The show was incredible, complete with fireworks, and fancy new dance moves. I have been a fan for 3 years, and this proved to me that I will be a fan forever.

On August 11th my dad gave me an early sweet sixteen birthday present and took me to see my favorite group in the whole world , the Backstreet Boys!! I was so excited!!

We bought our tickets the day before the concert, and I was so surprised we were so close to the stage. I could see everything perfectly with out my binoculars.

The opening acts were Aaron Carter, SOAP, and Jimmy Ray. They were okay, but I was so pumped to see my boys!! When the show finally started, the fireworks started and the BSB came shooting out of the trap doors from underneath the stage and went right into That's The Way I Like It!! Awesome song , I LOVE It !! It's among my very favorites now.I have their US debut album, and an import of Backstreet's Back so I listen to it all the time. They sang Shai's If I Ever Fall In Love acappella style!! Aw! So beautiful!! Kevin's voice is so amazing. He really deserves more solos. Then came Hey Mr. DJ. I love that song too!!

Next came each of their solos starting with Howie who was singing a song that was new to the whole crowd, It's like My Heart Will Stay With You , it's going to be on the new album. He threw roses out onto the crowd. next came AJ who did Lay Down Beside Me. He was so great. He did some pretty sexy moves too. This lady standing next to my dad was like dying or ready to faint or something it was so funny, he was like okay. Then came out Kevin came out and did Nobody But You , dang that boy can move and he sounded excellent during that song too. Trust me he's not there just for looks. his voice is so incredible. Then came my fave, the beautiful Brian , my B-ROk babe! He sang That's What She Said. Awesome!!!! He can sing so beautifully. He sounds like an angel. That song is so beautiful. Then Nick sang Heaven in Your Eyes.It was good, Nick isn't high on my list , but he did good. He looked pretty cute though.

Then from there they did Let's Have A Party. I can't name all the songs they did right off the top of my head, but I'll list my faves that they performed. All I Have To Give, Darlin', I'll Never Break Your Heart, As Long As You Love Me, and they did that terrific chair routine!! I loved it live!! The three encores were Get Down , We've Got It Goin' On, and Everybody Backstreet's Back. Everybody was the B-O-M-B! They were pushed out in these coffins, and they were turned around , and were all posed different positions, then B-ROk started off the song, and they also did that big dance routine from the video. I've seen the All Access Vieo so many times I can get up and do the dance with them. It also doesn't hurt that I'm a dancer. = P. Then after that song they said goodnight and took a bow.

And my sixteenth birthday was the absolute best , thanks for letting me share it with you.

Well, where should I start.........let's see......

Well, it all began about a week before the concert (In Concord, Aug 11,1998). I was told that there would be a chance that I could go to the Backstreet Boys Concert that Tuesday night. I was excited, but I had to remember that it was only a chance. Of course I made sure that I had the day off of work, just in case. Up until the day before the concert, my chances of going were looking slimmer and slimmer. But then I got a phone call, telling me that we had an extra ticket! That alone was exciting, but that wasn't even the beginning.

Tuesday came, and my sister's friend's dad came to pick us up. It was SOOO hot outside. We all jammed ourselves into this little tiny geo. The traffic was horrific. It took sooooo long to get in Concord. The temperature in the car said 102 degrees. So there we are, stuck in traffic.....not going anywhere anytime soon. Then all of the sudden I look out the window on the right side and what do I see? OH MY GOD!!!!! IT'S THEM!!!!!! The first thing that I see is Brian grinning like a mad man and waving like crazy at me and my sister! It hardly even registers in my mind what is going on, before the traffic starts to move again. The guys van goes up a few cars ahead. How is it possible that no one else, out of all of the girls, saw the Backstreet Boys in a van, stuck in traffic???? Well, now since we are so excited about what just happened...stupid as we are, we tell the girls in the car next to us what happened. Then they get out of their car, we get out of ours, in the middle of dead stopped traffic, and run towards the Backstreet Boys van. Of course, they see us coming, and take off down the sidewalk!! Straight down the sidewalk, without even looking. Then we got back in our car. We drive for another block and then we saw a kid, with a tangled up bike. Did he get hit? Oh my GOD!!!! Then I spotted the van in the parking lot of a church. We made the Backstreet Boys hit a kid on a bike! He was okay, and did not want anyone to call the ambulance or anything. We parked a block away and walked back toward the parking lot. Here we are again.......are we the only ones who know that the Backstreet Boys are just parked there?? We were!!!! Oh my gosh, I was so excited.....we walked toward the van and we see A.J, Nick, Howie and Brian. Kevin came later in another van to pick the guys up. Just as we are getting close enough, their bodyguard gets out of the front seat and walks towards us. The only thing that he said to us was "Girls, this is not a good time. Go back to your business." I wanted to cry!!!! There we were, not even 2 feet away from the finest guys in the world, and we couldn't do anything but wave. Well, at least they waved back.

This all happened before the concert. I never thought that the day would turn out so wonderful! From then on, Brian has been my favorite because the first thing I saw was his gorgeous smile, and he was actually looking at me! I didn't even notice him at first! The concert turned out to be awesome, are seats were pretty good. I was so full of energy the whole night. My voice was completely gone the next day. I would have to say that the concert was the best day of my life. If my sister's friend had gone instead of me, I would never have believed them if they told me this story, but I was there, and it is true. The Backstreet Boys are the best.

There is so much to tell, I hope that I didn't leave anything out! Thanks so much for listening!!!

The best night of my life. The Backstreet Boys were kickin' with all the motions and the groove. Despite the thirty minute waiting period after the opening acts of Aaron Carter, Soap, and Jimmy Ray, there was the occasional hand that peeked out of the curtains. Was it Nick? Brian? AJ? Howie? Kevin? Who knows? Maybe it was the hand of one of their backup band members. For one thing, it was getting tiring standing up and sitting down for thirty minutes. The adrenaline of twenty thousand plus was coming out of the ears of all their fans, myself included. Luckily the venue was at the amphitheatre. While waiting for the show to go, I look up from my lower level seat. Trying to get a glimpse of friends up in the upper level and lawn seats. Who incidentally won the tickets from a radio station. Oh well, they're too far anyways. I'm so lucky. Then I try to look for the girl at my school who won Z95's contest and won a BSB jacket, backstage passes, and front row seats. Oooh. How do I envy her. Still, I'm happy because I'm at their concert. Woo Hoo.

The show begins with "That's the way I like it". I scream like all the other teenagers and younger-despite that I'm supposed to be above it all because of my age. Oh well. The music starts for That's...I and what's going through my head is the song from their first or second album? That thought is dashed as I enjoy the solid vocals of this group. Boy are these guys good. Really really good.

What was really amazing was the proof of the groups validity of how strong their voices were and in sync (pardon the pun) the group was. Especially with their little echo effect in their rendition of Shai's "If I Ever..." They've shown what they can do and what is in store. Perhaps more instruments played and more leads for Howie D and Kevin? The respective performances of "My Heart Stays With You" and "Nobody" show that these two have been ready for more. Is the public ready for more? Yes they were.

This group has proven that hard work pays off. Their moves was fab, the clothes were happenin, the music was great, and the audience was on their feet.

One note though, whenever the name of the venue was recognized by the BSB members, it was said wrong, pardon me because pronunciation is big if you want to recognize. The August 11 concert was held at the Concord Pavilion (Con-kurd) not at the Concord (pronounced like the jet-Corcorde) Pavilion!

Despite the mispronunciation, the concert ended on a happy note and I apologize to the guy behind me for standing on the seat and blocking his view.

Well, I think to let you better understand how amazing my concert experience was, I should go back to 2 days before the concert actually took place. I was bored, so I turned on the radio to my favorite station, which is 102.7 KIIS FM. I heard the DJ, Valentine, say that if you wanted to win front row tickets to the Backstreet Boys concert at the Universal Ampitheatre you could enter on the internet through the radio station's website. I allready had tickets to this concert, but they were somewhere in the middle section, and when I heard that you could win THE front row, I just figured that it couldn't hurt to enter.

So, I went online, and filled out the entry form....4 times. At the website, there was a message that said, "If you win, KIIS FM will show up at your house at 5:30pm tomorrow, and Valentine(the DJ) will personally hand you your front row tickets!" Now, you have to understand here that I'm not even that huge of a BSB fan(well, I am now, but I wasn't at the time). I was kinda just entering the contest because I had nothing better to do. I liked the group and all, but they weren't my favorite group in the world. So, let me take you to the next day, Friday, the day before the concert. Every so often, I climb up on top of the roof of my house to just go up there and think. And Friday was one of the days that I just happened to be up there. I had been up there for about 45 minutes, just thinking and talking to myself every so often (I'm kinda weird). I wasn't even thinking about the BSB contest that I'd entered the day before. I mean, I've never won a thing in my life, and I surely didn't expect today to be any different from all the other days in my life.

So there I am, with my legs hanging off the roof, just sitting there watching cars pass by. Then, I hear this loud engine, and suddenly, a van pulls up into my driveway, and comes to this sudden stop. It took me a second to realize that this van was actually the KIIS FM van!! I kinda figured that out when I saw the name of the radio station painted across the sides. Then, I heard these people yelling, "Go go go. Move it, move it!!" I swear, I thought I was dreaming. But, when I saw the camera man jump out of the van, and look up to the roof at me, I then realized what was happening. "Oh my God!!", was the only thought that kept running through my head. "Could they really be here to give me the BSB tix??" I made a mad dash for the front door. First, I had to get off of the roof, and usually I'm really cautious about that. But, at this moment, I kinda just jumped down instead of climbing. I mean, I was REALLY excited!!

I made it to the front door before my dad could get there, falling down twice on the way( I was running super fast). Then, I answered the door, and who was standing there?? It was none other than Valentine!!! He was like, "Danielle, we're looking for Danielle." I just screamed, "That's me!" Then, he made me say hi to the camera, and all of a sudden, he goes, "Now, take your front row tickets to the Backstreet Boys!!" I just screamed soooooo loud, and gave him the biggest hug. And my dad, who happened to be VERY drunk at the time, was just laughing and cheering along, not knowing what was going on :) After the cheering had died down, I went back in the house and screamed some more. I looked at the tix and held them, and I guess I was just trying to make sure they were real :) Eventhough, I wasn't a major BSB fan, this was still like a dream!! I turned on the radio a few minutes later, and guess who was on?? Me!!!! They played the tape of me screaming while I was getting the tix :)

So, that was pretty darn exciting too, just being on the radio. He had given me 2 front row seats, so without hesitation, I decided to take my little brother with me up front. He's practically my best friend, and he knows like every BSB song since I have the album and I play it a lot. So, now it's the day of the concert, Saturday, August 8th, 1998!! I was pretty excited, but not super excited cuz I wasn't like a BSB fanatic or anything. Before going to the concert that day, me and mom stopped to pick up flowers for the guys(I figured if I was really in the front row, then maybe I could hand the flowers to them myself). We're now in Los Angeles at the Universal Ampitheatre. I went in with my little bro, and sure enough, these were the BEST BEST BEST seats in the whole place. They were dead center, front row, like not even 2 feet from the stage!! The first performer was Aaron Carter. All I could keep thinking was how much he looked like Zac Hanson( I AM a Hanson fanatic!) He was just adorable. And his dancing was great!

Then, a girl duo called SOAP performed a few songs. In the words of my little brother, they were FINE!! Then, Jimmy Ray came out and performed. At one point when he was singing, I looked at him while I was licking my lips( it's cuz they were chapped). But, he assumed that I was sticking my tongue out at him, and therefore, stuck his tongue out at me! After performing his 2nd song, he came and jumped off the front of the stage, in between the stage and the gate that blocks the first row. He grabbed my hand, and right into the mike he said, "Why'd you stick your tongue out at me?" I just kinda got shy and said, "Oh I was just licking my lips." Then, as he was getting back up on the stage, he bent over and pretended to fart in my face!! It was funny, but also a little rude. Alotta people were lookin at me cuz they knew the "fart" was directed at me. I bet I turned bright red!! So, then we had about a half hour wait(more or less).

It was now time for the Backstreet Boys to come out!! They opened with a song called "That's the Way I Like It". It was really good!! I don't remember the songs that they sang in any order. But, I do know that they sang a lot!! Ones that definitely stick out in my mind are "Quit Playin Games With My Heart", "I'll Never Break Your Heart", "Darlin", "We've Got It Goin On", "As Long As You Love Me", "All I Have To Give", "Anywhere For You", "Hey Mr. DJ", and some others. I basically recognized all the songs from the U.S. album, but the other ones were new to me. But, let me tell you about some of the highlights of the concert. The first cool thing that happened was when I reached my hand out when AJ was in front of me, and he actually grabbed it for like a second. That was soooo cool!! I mean, I was like 2 feet away from these guys, and it was just AWESOME!!

Then, another cool moment happened when each group member came out and sang a solo. Howie came out, and he was throwing roses in the audience. I caught 2 of em, but I gave one to the girl behind me cuz I only need one, right?? Then, he came over and touched my hand when I reached it out!! Also, when the BSB sang "Quit Playin Games", Nick came right to the front of the stage, squatted down, and looked me in the eyes for like 7 seconds while he was singing!! He is sooooo amazingly cute!! Later during the show, I brought out the roses I had bought earlier, and I handed those to Kevin, who in return gave me a nice smile and a little bow :) And towards the very end of the concert, B-Rock looked right at me and said "I can't hear you". By the end of the concert, I had ended up touching Howie's hand like 3 or 4 times!! All the songs were great.

The concert was a blast!! They just really know how to get the audience into it completely. They're last song was "Everybody", which was just dope!! They came out in coffins, and they did all the dance moves from the video :) Well, after the concert, I went to dinner with my family(they were at the concert too, but in the middle section), and then we drove home listening to my BSB cd. Even as I'm typing this, I'm listening to "I'll Never Break Your Heart" on repeat. I've even cried a few times since being home from the concert. Not sad tears, but happy tears cuz I'm remembering the concert, and how Howie touched me =) I just wanna say that before this concert, I without a doubt had a crush on Nick, and I didn't even like any of the other members at all. But, now it's totally changed. I can't imagine the group without a single one of them. I love how they make you feel special at the concert. How they'll reach out their hands to touch yours. And how they love to make eye contact!! I went to a Hanson concert last month, and I thought that in no way would the Backstreet Boys be able to compare. But, you know what? They were just as good, and dare I say it, but maybe even better!!

They've converted this Hanson lovin gal into a total BSB fan in the course of 2 1/2 hours. Without a doubt, Hanson was my favorite band when I left for the concert last night. But now, I can't decide if it's them or BSB. It just goes to show you that even if you're not a really big fan, you should STILL GO TO A BSB CONCERT!! I did, and now look at me. Just a day later, I'm allready collecting Backstreet Boys pin ups from magazines and listening to their album non-stop!! I think I'll call up that dj and thank him for those wonderful seats :) Well, if you made it this far down the page, thanks a bunch for reading!! And if you haven't been to a BSB concert yet this year, I just wanna tell you in advance that you're gonna have soooooo much fun!!! Later people!
