The Boys singing in Drowning is incredible. How can they be so sweet and so sexy and so talented all at the same time? I love that all five guys get to sing alone; yet, it's when they sing together that the awesome combination of their voices fills my heart. I love the Backstreet Boys, and I always will. Those five men can sing!!!!!! They take pop music one step us from the rest of the performers. No one sings like Backstreet. I'm glad Kevin got to sing and play the piano--that was great. And each of the Boys sounded wonderful. Thanks for Drowning and thanks for Chapter I.

Drowning....and the whole TRL countdown...sort of...

Okay, friday, the 2nd of November, I decided to take a risk of some sort. I decided to bring in my VHS tape with the world premiere of "Drowning" from TRL. I have yearbook, and the advisor is hardly in the room, so it was no problem bringing anything we wanted to watch, as long as we don't get caught. I decided to play drowning during brunch during brunch since no one's in there during that time, and I had a lot of my friends who really wanted to see it. I had another friend come in, but she was an nsync fan, and what was suprising was that she didn't complain that much when she watched it with us. Pretty soon the bell rang and it was time for 3rd period yearbook. The advisor still hadn't come in, but soon the yearbook staff was starting to come on. One of my good friends, a big bsb fan, came in late and was like "Aaah! Stop the tape and rewind it! I wanna see the beginning!" so I rewound the tape for her and oops,i accidentally rewinded the tape all the way, so I played the part where TRL was at the #10 video. I got opinions from everyone in that class for every video that played, from "Hero..." girls were drooling over Enrique... To P.O.D. "My mom loves this song!" Shakira "Who's she? Hey, she looks like Britney...Hey, I like her!" nsync's "gone," (i gotta say, a lot of people were really annoyed by that song. The guys, even the yearbook advisor was like "Oh god, this song is annoying," and "Okay, I know they gone, dang quit saying it over and over and over, we get the point," and "they sound like sissy girls." I think that video got the most complaints, wait, britney spears got more... I think everyone in our yearbook staff really dislikes britney... Especially after they saw her video... But before that, okay, the risk thing, what I'm talking about is how everyone is bound to critize bsb, cause some peeps in there complain alot about alot of things, so I knew that by bringing the world premiere of "Drowning," I would get an earful, especially from those who really hate them. An actual quote from yearbook staff memebers "Ugh, this is the band that I absolutely hate," and "Oh look, its the backstreet boys! Okay, let's kill them now," and "They're all alcoholics. Why don't you listen to some other alcoholics who actually make good music?" I had to suck in my breath and not start arguing cause its not my nature to argue. That was so hard to do, since all the "popular" people were like "Eww, they're ugly. Ooh, he's ugly. Nsync's WAY better." but when "Drowning" was almost over, not that much people complained. In fact, the majority of the peeps were watching quietly and nodding their heads. No one complained more after that. I don't care what they all think, my personal opinion is that "Drowning" is the best new material from the backstreet boys. Simple, but it gets to the point. Its another "i want it that way," for sure.

OMG! I dunno what to say! First of all, I have to congradulate the guys, espically A.j, on successfully re covering! We knew you could do it A.j! Now, "Drowning" is so AMAZING! The song is so sweet. There is just something about the song, and the lyrical content that is so fresh, and new, but at the same time, the same amazing, quality that we've come to expect from the backstreetboys. I am absoutly in love with the video! Even my best friend who is a die hard *Nsync fan, and screams at me everytime I talk about backstreetboys loves the song, and video! I also love A.j's "Happy". This song touches me is so many different ways. It reminds me of my brother who is going through simiular problems as A.j was. In a way it gives me hope that someday, my troubled brother will be happy. I want the thank the guys once again for truely being an inspiration to so many, including my self, and for continuing to make amazing, good quality music that so many love!

"Drowning" really reflects the guys growth from boys to men. This song has more depth to it instrumentally, but also, their sound is even better. It's a beautiful song that I could see becoming a country music hit. As far as the video, it's beautiful but simple. I noticed that this was the first video where the camera didn't focus on one individual more than the other, and this and also the simplicity of the video just shows that you don't need all the other stuff to make a video stand out when the song and the artists are talented.

Hello! well i'm not gonna say that much about the drowning video/ song, i think everyone covered everything already! personally i love the video (and i absoulutely LOVE the song!), some people say that it needed a story line to it, some people say that it's beautiful cause it's simple, and i like it that way. It's not like EVERY single video has to be THE BEST. It was the boys's decision to have the video this way, and to not release the 'wet version'. On TRL they said they hated the other version, i guess they didn't like the way it turned out, so they re-shot it. I love the new video it has a beautiful setting to it and i think it matches the song! i know alot of ppl have mixed reactions to the video, but that's fine, i guess, some people like it some people don't. But all in all i think it's a great video (that's my opinion) And people are saying that the begining of Drowning sounds the same as O-Towns's "All Or Nothing"? well i was listening to a radio interview with A.J. a while ago, and the DJ asked the same question. And A.J. said that they recorded Drowning like 2 years ago! and O-Town CD hasn't been out that long! A.J. said O-Town must have copied it from them (i think)not BSB copying from O-town. Well i hoped i cleared that up lol and that was my review! KEEP THE BACKSTREET PRIDE ALIVE everyone! cause BSB is #1!!!!!

P.S. i love BSB!

Im not really a big fan of boy bands or pop. But when Drowning played on the radio yesterday, it reminded me of how much I love my wife, she's special, and I'll keep drowning in her love.( Beautiful Song, the Backstreet Boys are growing up)

I have to say that even though I am a huge BSB fan, I am also a fan of 'NSYNC- when they're doing good things that is. But the songs and videos that just came out exemplify why Backstreet are my favorite. "Gone" is all about Justin Timberlake- he's the only one with a solo and 90% of the video is just him. Now take "Drowning"- all five Boys sing solos and sing them well and they get equal screen time in the video. Backstreet has always been about the harmonies and the way their voices blend together so beautifully. They really look and sound so great and confortable together and happy in the new video. And I love the simplicity of the video too. I always think that actors and plot lines distract from the guys and the meaning of the song, especially with love songs- it's their song and nothing gets the point across like the five of them singing and showing their hearts to the world. I love to watch their individual mannerisms and the things they do with their hands. What plot or acting could be more powerful than A.J. removing his sunglasses at the end and showing us not only his eyes but his soul? I'll take a sweet, simple gesture like that over special effects any day. When there's plot it becomes a movie and we know it's not real but when it's just them it's as true and moving as anything.

P.S. 'NSYNC should stop pretending to be a quintet and change their name to "The Justin Timberlake Show." Then they might not be good but at least they'd be honest.

The video version they released was good but the commercial for the chapter one cd had false advertising. There was no water in the video. It's cute how they're all just standing around, but wetter is better!!! We fans need to see BSB in the rain again. mmm...NICKY and AJ. :) Hopefully they will show the better wetter version sometime soon. Some people said it was too depressing, but it wasn't. It depressed me when they weren't in the rain. I was so looking forward to seeing it, but I felt let down when I saw the video.
