They don't realize that just because this band may be one of the most successful bands ever [thats something you can't argue.. think 5Million]they ARE PEOPLE! Just like us, they wanna get married, have lives. They make mistakes like us. Them being honest and happy makes the media cringe, and that's what I hate. So what Kevin and Brian are married.. that's NORMAL. Aj made a mistake and fixed it in rehab.. that's REAL. The reason people look at people like the Backstreet Boys as fake is because thats what they WANT TO see. They won't accept that BSB are people too.. not just performers. I find this devistating, since I believe that they are a very talented vocal group, who are still very capable of coming back to the top. I think it is unfair to compare them to other bands and their success, since there are many talented artists who also deserve credit. The spotlight has simply drifted off of them, and focused on a more popular band. However, I wish the best, and hope to see them do very well in 2003 upon their next release. As for the boys, I think that they should continue to work together and be supportive, instead of taking a selfish turn. It upset me that Kevin critisized the Black and Blue album, and that Nick has lost their support, due to a decision which could be beneficial to his career choice. It really seems that things will continue to go down hill from here, if they continue this way. My friends make decisions which I do not necessarily like, but I befriend them, as a good friend should. I hope in the end, they make a decision, which will be beneficial to the whole group. And that to me shows that we all still very much respect and love BSB and they're music. They took a break because they were tired. Some times you just gotta sit back and rest. Hey it's better then burn-out! They also mentioned that A.J going to rehab destroyed their image. Well think about. At least he admited he had a problem and did something about it. If he didn't tell everyone there would of been romurs about it and eventually everyone would of found out. Then the media would of said "BSB lies to there fans." I think A.J handled it well and from me I have nothing but respect for him." I'm glad for BSB that they have been able to hang on for so long and survive the neverending battle between themselves and *NSYNC. BSB even made it into the Guniess Book of World Records for the album "Millennium". They have gone through a lot of problems and al least have kept there fans up to date with what has been going on and not been afraid to admit them. I think one thing that people don't realize is the they guys are human too and will at times tend to make mistakes like the rest of us. We have to understand that and support them anyway we can. I believe that eventhough they are doing seperate projects, doesn't mean that they are thinking of breaking up. Look at Lance from *NSYNC, he's trying to go up in space, and there's been no news of *NSYNC breaking up, so I don't understand why people are constantly always picking on BSB. I did not think that Black & Blue was a bad album, and for crying out loud he should have kept that to himself. People have enough bad things to say about the boys without one of the members saying not so positive things about their work. Nicks going on his own is not a surprise to me, seeing as the mother he has. I think she has used him to further Aarons career along. She is for the almighty dollar and NIcks album if it does well should net him in alot of money. He wouldnt have to share with 4 other guys. Will there be a Backstreet Boys without Nick. I doubt it. Can they get it together enough to do another Album? I dont think so. Before when it was mostly just them it was easier. I still think that the Boys could do a fantastic new album , but the press, TV you name are still making fun of them. Even Nsyc is getting it now. I live in India and I can proudly say that atleast in my country lol...ppl hate nsync on the large and love bsb! Girls around here are still mad bout bsb and no one is bothered bout nsync...bands like westlife or blue may be around but bsb aint no boyband...they are men enough! and I think since the time when I first heard them, back when I was just 11 or 12...things have changed...now I'm 17 and after all these years of growing together its been a walk to remember lol! The guys are there with me when I'm down, their music lifts my soul high up and I get the f***in confidence to face the world. I've been thru really s*** times and the guys have been too but without them I dont even think a depressed teen like me cud've survived thru life! I agree with your comments about N Sync and how they are always praised even though they're immature. The BSB have been through so much(family deaths, rehab, bad management, etc.) and still have stayed together. That definatly deserves so recognition. I have been a fan forever and I realize that in the eyes of the media the boys won't always be #1 whether it is award shows or billboard charts but does that really matter? The BSB have the greatest fans and no matter what happens we will love them.
