AJ, Hey, I hope you get well soon, and I know you will get through this fine. As for the rude people that say AJ needs to get over this and that he shouldn't have a problem.......GET A LIFE!!!! That is sooooo wrong what you people are doing this. Especially the N'SYNC fans and the not so big BSB fans....you all should be praying for AJ not bashing him at any chance you get. You know we're all humans on this earth we all have problems none of us are perfect. Personally I think AJ has a lot of balls so to speak to come out and admit that he has a problem. So you people are ignerant to think that they just have every thing made for them. That and you must think you are a god....that you do nothing wrong and if you happen to have a problem with AJ being in rehab then you need to go to a mental facility. N'SYNC fans you shouldn't be bashing the boys or AJ just becasue they're not perfect, this actually makes them seem more human, and not so out of touch for us BSB fans. We're not bashing N'SYNC just becasue Justin is dating Britney or some stupid reason so LAY OFF!!!! Sorry for causing such a ripple in this AJ but I had to get it clear. GET H-A-P-P-Y SOON AJ!!!

Dear A.J, Nick, Howie D., Brian, and Kevin of the Backstreet Boys, My name is Gina Wright and I am the mother of a sixteen-year-old daughter, Mandi and an eleven-year-old son, Derek. My daughter fell in love with you guys about oh I guess five years ago and ever since you have been a part of our lives. Mandi is madly in love with Nick, almost to the point of obsession. She knows everything about him, his dog’s names, where he scuba dives, the kind of shampoo he uses, est. She knows a lot about the rest of you also but Nick is her most favorite. She calls you her “Husbands” or “Her Men’s” and you would believe it was so. She has over 3000 pictures and posters of you guys covering her wall, ceiling and in scrapbooks. I myself fell in love with you, Howe D., because I love men with long hair and you seem to be the stoner type like myself. We have seen you guys in concert 5 times since then and I am writing to let you know how you five handsome, courteous, kind, sexy, talented young men have changed our lives, and that I couldn’t be more pleased or proud that my daughter choose “The Backstreet Boys” to have fallen in love with. Last December I asked my son what he wanted for Christmas, he replied The Backstreet Boys for sissy. I said yeah right. Really what do you want for Christmas? He once again replied The Backstreet Boys and said it was because he only wanted to make his sister happy and that is want she truly wanted. I was so filled with an unexplainable feeling that I had an eleven-year-old son who was so unselfish and so special and loved his sister so much he only wanted for her, not himself I cried. He decided for her Christmas present he would write you guys a letter and ask you to please come see us. I explained that was asking a lot for how famous you guys are and a more reasonable thing do ask for were backstage passes or concert tickets. I didn’t want to discourage him because he really only wanted this so I encouraged he write the letter. When he was finished I sent the letter to your fan club address, registered mail in hopes one of you would get it. I am inclosing a copy maybe one of you saw it. (When I started writing this letter we had gotten no response but a letter was received about a month ago from the fan club with a picture, it made Derek feel good.) I believe if you believe anything is possible even the impossible, if you want it bad enough and you go about it the right way, you just may get it. Most eleven-year-old boys want scooters, bikes, or B.B guns for Christmas, but not my son, this I hope begins to show you just how very special my children are! Anyways the second to the last time we saw you ways at the Oakland Coliseum on March 2, 2001. We had what Mandi called nosebleed seats but in the parking lot we met a very nice young man, one of your security named Brooklyn. He showed us some backstage passes and said that some security were selling them for as much as 800$ apiece. I could afford to pay that much but I would have given my last dime for Mandi to have one. Brooklyn like us and our enthusiasm and our painted van windows reading Backstreet Boys #1, Backstreet Boys or Bust! Nick’s name in the shotgun window and Howie D. on the driver’s side, we love the Backstreet Boys!!! It was a total BSB mobile, so we exchanged phone numbers. The next day Mandi and I went to our work. At the time we both worked at a florist together. While at work Brooklyn called Mandi’s cell phone and said that A.J had been signing things after the concert and that he had gotten a signed simba bear beanie, by you A.J for Mandi!!!!! She was so excited that she had to be sent home from work because her boss didn’t like the fact the she was so happy. Mandi and I both ended up quitting our jobs at that florist because of this whole experience. So after work we showered and changed and started your journey from Pittsburg Ca to Santa Cruz, which is about 120 miles away. It was raining and windy and 9 o clock at night but we didn’t care, we were going to get her simba bear that was signed by you, A.J. When we arrived we met Brooklyn, got something to eat and a hotel and tried to get some sleep. Mandi and I were so excited we could only sleep for a few house so we decided to talk a walk down to the boardwalk. It was rainy and stormy but we both love the beach and ocean so much we decided to brave the weather along with us the whole time we had our boom box playing nothing other than BSB. It played until it got to wet and it wouldn’t play anymore. The people around us thought we were weird but as Mandi says I’m not weird I am gifted, so we really didn’t care, we were especially crazy because we had seen you the night before and were still on a natural high. Mandi had lost her voice from yelling at your concert Friday night so we left around noon and drove home to prepare for work and your concert on Monday March 5, 2001 at the Arco Arena in Sacramento Ca. We had very good seats this time right down on the main floor about 6 rows back. I parked in the wrong parking lot and it was raining so we decided to take a short cut across some space and ended up where the diesels park that hall your equipment. There were some trucks back up to the ramps so we decided to check it out. Jokingly I asked a driver in his truck if we could go in that way. He said there’s security but I’m not going to stop you. We gave him a dark peach rose (Mandi’s favorite), one of the five we had hoped to somehow get to you. So we walked up the steps, there was nobody around anywhere. So I said lets go. Mandi said momma we can’t go in this way and I responded with watch me! I told her put a smile on your face and act like you know what you are doing! We walked the perimeter of the place, past the food, past the dressing rooms, sound area, all of the time walking past 200 or so security people in groups of 4 or 5, all were doing different but know one said a thing they just smiled and others even said hi to us or waved. About this time Mandi said momma that’s A.J. I said where and she said over there on that scooter. Your back was to us and you were 100 yards away and I said yeah right. She still insisted momma that’s A.J and sure enough it was. I told you she knows everything about you even the back of your head, A.J, at 100 yards away. She picked up the pace then amazed at what we were doing and where we had gotten ourselves with out anyone questioning us. We followed you up to where the others were playing basketball and as you stopped we walked up behind you and for some DUMB reason we stopped about 3 feet behind you. Your back was to us and as Mandi walked to you to ask if she could have a hug, you body guard Bobby noticed us and said how did you get in here? As soon as that was said about 15 or more security people surrounded us and started pushing us away, all the time asking how did you get in here? We simply replied we walked and that was the truth. What did they want us to say we flew? As we were being pushed away I yelled A.J, you didn’t respond. I figured we had gotten this far so I asked if we could give you a rose. They said no and continued to push as so again I yelled your name and you turned your head around with both hands still on the handlebars of your scooter. I threw a rose up into the air high so you could see and you smiled at me as if to say thumbs up you, looked me right into the eyes. I can still close my eyes and see your handsome face and smile as if it had only been yesterday. We made eyes contact and I am hoping you remember. I have never had a high like that in my life and I have done a lot of things and been a lot of places. Do you remember? I am praying you remember or at least heard tale of the two crazy blondes that did what 100 million women and or girls in the world dream, wish, and fantasies they could do. Its still like a dream, something so beautiful and special, one that you don’t ever want to wake up from. In your eyes I saw hoe special and real you really are. Your eyes are the windows to your soul and I believe that in some special way you have not only touched my daughters life but mine as well and I thank you for that. Later in the concert where you come up behind on another small stage and walk across that ramp singing Time the most special thing happen to Mandi. She was holding up a sign for you, Nick, as you crossed and stopped to sing a security guard came and told her to put it down. But then you Nick looked into her eyes and mouthed what dose your sign say? She stuck that thing up as high as she could and she is a tall girl. It read NICK HELP IM LOST WILL YOU TAKE ME HOME WITH U? As you read it you smiled laughed and gave her the thumbs up. Mandi couldn’t believe it; she never thought that she would ever have any really contact with you. I’ve never seen so much true joy, happiness, excitement and love in all of her life. She is not one to show emotions much at all and to see that in her eyes was the best feeling a mother could ever have. Later that night I went to buy a sweatshirt and something to drink. When I returned to the main floor and tried to enter, I had to show my ticket, they noticed that the stub wasn’t torn and once again I was asked the question how did you get in here with out this being torn. I told them that I had walked in though backstage. He wanted to tear it and I told him I would let him. I wanted my full ticket in proof of our story and to show my great grand children fifty years from now. They again surrounded me and told me that if I didn’t let them tear it that they would carry me out of the place. So I had to because Mandi was still at her seat waiting for me to return. That was unnecessary and they were really rude and mean about it. Luckily I had left Mandi her ticket in case we got separated and she has her whole ticket in a frame in her room. Mandi has said since that momma you taught me that anything absolutely anything is possible even the impossible. She believes that Nick and her will marry and have a family or at least she hopes but nothing is for certain. Mandi says that fait and destiny will only take you so far and the rest is all you. I never really believed her when she said this but now I believe too. After all of you or anyone said we would have been able to walk right in backstage and with in four feet of you, A.J. even I would of laughed and been a non believer. I have been going to rock ‘n’ roll concerts for 30 years all the best Santana, Eric Clapton, Bad Company, Journey, Skynard est., probably over 150 concerts in my life time and I have never ever gotten close to what happen to us that night. So thank you for re instilling in my daughter, others and myself ANYTHING is possible and there is no dream or goal to high to reach for. So Nick you better look out because Mandi Marie Wright is coming and she is beautiful, sexy, funny, crazy and smart. Everything you, Nick, want and need in your wife and life! In April tickets for the August show in San Jose were supposed to go on sale for the fan club members but when Mandi went to get tickets it was already over. So needless to say we got nosebleed tickets again for the August 13, 2001 show at San Jose Arena Section 215, Row 3 Seats 6 and 7. So she got really upset and mad. Than I reminded her of what happen last time we went to see them. I got you four feet form A.J remember? She stopped and I said remember? Believe darlin and she smiled her Miss America Smile and hugged me and there was NO BETTER feeling a mom could EVER feel in my book anyway. To have done this for my baby girl (who is not a baby anymore) meant everything in the world to her and me. So if you get this letter I mean book it turned out to be, you can always call us down on stage with you and we will come a running and a dancing. We love you and are your #1 fans, truly you #1 fans. We promise you will fell our special ness even from the nosebleed seats because of you special ness. Mandi gave the sign that she made for you, Nick, to that truck driver we met. He said he would try to get it to you at you show in Vegas back in March. Did he? We will be the happiest women in the world if you guys answer. Love your best fans Mandi, Gina and Derek Wright.P.S We drove 700 miles that weekend for you guys. You So Rock! We love you XOXOXOXOXO P.S.S I heard today about you, A.J, and your depression and alcohol problem. It made me finish this letter I have been working on for a while now in hopes that I would finish it in time and let you guys know how you have touch our lives. And to help him believe what he already knows in his heart is true that you all are special and without you guys the world would be missing out. To maybe repay what he instilled in us to let him know how special, important and talented he is and that he can beat this problem by just praying and wanting to. I know if you search deep inside your soul A.J everything will be all right because this world needs you and your excellent talent and with out you there would be no Backstreet Boys. The BSB is what the world needs because there are not many positive performers around mostly punk-rap negative bullshit bands sending the wrong message to our future leaders of your world. Were here anytime you might need us. When any of you are up or down or just need a shoulder to cry on or someone real to talk to were here. To Nick we are not sure what is going on with you, but how did you break your arm? You look pretty down and Mandi is very worried. She wants you to know that no matter what, the most important things are your health and happiness, and to do what makes you who you are because that is the most important thing as well. Nick, Mandi loves you. Mandi loves you all and so do I. Thank you for being the Backstreet Boys and most importantly yourselves. Please respond but if you don’t I’m not worried we will catch up to you someday I know it in my heart.

Hey A.J, I know i already wrote you one of these but i have more stuff to tell you. In case you were wondering-yes i do blaze or get high wutever you wanna call it, but i did it like 2 weeks ago for the first time in 4 months. I wish I could be as strong willed as you are to quit but its not easy and that is another reason I' proud of you. Peer Pressure and just pressure is out in full power these days and its hard to stop doing something that is so "good" and helps "get away" for a little but in the long run it only hurts you. I guess what I'm saying is that I admire you for being able to quit wutever "drugs" you were doing cuz I'm sure it wasnt easy, and I kinda know wut your going through. I'm sure what im going through is not nearly as hard core as yours was but I understand wut your going through with the realizing that not only do you have a problem but realizing that the problem was gonna hurt you eventually. I only hope that sometime in the future (hopefully the near future) I'll be able to be as strong as you and stop. I also think that you are encouraging people in the same position as you and I to stop, because its hard to be who you are and coming out with your problem, especially with the news and their ablity to "stretch" the truth. Well this time this is all. Good Luck!! Luv Ya!!

Hi AJ I just wanted to tell you that I love you and am proud of you for what you decided to do for yourself, by going to rehab. When I first heard about it, I was so concerned and very upset that you were in rehab. I could barely sleep and couldn't stop thinking about you. I hope and pray that you will be better soon and can come back to bsb a healthier, better person. Keep your chin up and keep smiling. I love you and really miss you.
