A.J., I just want you to know we, the fans, miss you so much and we are all so incredibly proud of you for what you have done. It takes a lot of courage to say "I need help." and I am so glad you did. Not that you needed it, that you asked for it. It's one thing to sit there thinking "I have a big problem I need help with." but it's something much more admirable to stand up and say "Help me." Please know that we love you and we are all hoping and praying that you will be back on that stage you love so much on August 7, 2001. And I'll be seeing you on that stage on September 6, 2001. AJ, I realize that the hardest part about having a problem, is admitting it to yourself, and to others. You have showed trememdous strength and courage not only to all of your family, friends, and fans, but to people going through the exact same thing. I am not going to say "I love you", because if there is anything I have learned while being a Backstreet fan, it is that love is often too weak of a word to describe our feelings toward you, but at the same time too strong because you cannot love another person, having not even talked to them one on one. Nothing I could ever say would make anything that has happened go away, but you should never want it to go away. Every experience changes a person and the way they live their life, and this will change you for the better as a person. Nobody could ever describe the relationship between a fan and a band. For the same reason, nobody around me could understand why I was so emotionally drained when I found out the news on you. I was feeling overjoyed that you were getting help for something people close to me have never recieved help for, and at the same time saddened, feeling the pain and suffering of the boys and even you. I was hooked as a fan the first time I heard your voice in "I want it that way" and since then, I have attended 6 concerts, one of them 2nd row! In 2000, on the Millennium tour, my little sister, mom, and I managed to meet you in a Mcdonalds line in the MGM grand on your way to the VH1 Golf Tournament! Of course I don't expect you to remember, you've met billions of fans since then!!!! I'm sorry that this letter is rambling on, but I just really don't know how to express my gratitude and undying respect for you. You and the boys showed so much courage and class approaching this situation in the way that you did. And I commend you for that, as a person, not just as the Backstreet Boy that I know and will forever love. I love and respect you as a person and an artist and know that though it may take more than 30 days to heal this problem, I for one will be there for 30 more days or 30 years if thats what it takes to see you happy and healthy. We will be behind you every step of the way, and though you always have our love as fans, remember that the most important person and thing that you have to live for is yourself and your well being and happiness. I am proud of you and your effort to correct a serious problem and give hope to millions of people around the world. I love you and always will KTBSPA!! Dear A.J.,
Well as most people know around the country about your unfournunate problem this is a letter of encouragment. The Backstreet Boys are the best group around and I know that you guys will stay that way. But of course health does come first and I am proud of you for admiting your problem and seeking help. Anxiety, depression, and alcholism is a serious problem and if it is not dealt with it will not go away by itself. Even though your obviously commited to the Backstreet Boys you have to be happy in your heart and when you sang that song on a clip shown on TRL you were obviously unhappy. I know rehab will be hard but it is somehting you must do and when this is all over (which it will be) hopefully you can turn this into a positve thing by helping other people that have these problems but don't admit to it. If it does take longer then 30 days,so be it. Don't feel ashamed of yourself, you ARE doing the right thing. Tours must wait, health cannot, especially when it's mentally. I do not think you are crazy, I still respect you with the same heart as I have through the years of loving the Backstreet Boys. But more then just wishing luck on yourself to get better, you must look to Jesus Christ who will help you through anything that comes your way if you call up on him. The Backstreet Boys are still truley number one and it's still not over. Also remember that you have 4 guys that love you to death and are pulling for you and numerouse of fans who I'm sure are praying for you and wishing you the best. It's going to be ok Alex you WILL pull through, and remember even if everything was to end in a second, to me you would still be remembered as the incredible and phenominal Backstreet Boys. No one can touch you, not even that other group. On a postive note, to some people you are an inspiration through music and now your an inspiration to other people in serious issues. Hey peeps, hey AJ. I'd like to take this time to take my hat off to you, man. It was a very courageous and ballsy thing to do by taking your issue to the public. You guys all stayed real with your fans and that's cool. I idolize you guys, but I don't proclaim you to be super heros, so I expect you to be human and screw up sometimes. I'm with you AJ in this whole ordeal. I say take as much time as you need to recover, just don't leave us, your loyal fans. I think I can speak on behalf of all us BSB fans when I say that we don't know what we'd do if there was no AJ in the Backstreet Boys. you know you can and will get through this.I have no doubt abouthat.You see I'm what you would call one of your"older"fans[I had your cd before my kids knew who you were] so I've been there and done that.I know that if you had the determin-ation and will to stick it out in the music industry until some- one stood up and took notice of your talent[along with Kevin,Howie,Brian,Nick] than bygod you can conquer this and anything else that's thrown your way.AJ, you've got a voice that could melt even the coldest heart, and I't would be heartbreaking,if we could never hear it again. The Backstreet Boys would no longer be the Backstreet Boys.The BSB are you five! not you four, and not some generic AJ wanna be.I've heard alot of vocal groups over the years and I can promise you I've never heard ANY group that can harmonize and sounds like they were born to be together like you all do.So please get well and say this when you feel the need, "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot the courage to change the things I can,and the wisdom to know the difference". Wow, the last time i put up a message for you i was really shaken up cos of the news i heard. I want you to know this, ALL TRUE BACKSTREET BOYS FANS ARE BEHIND YOU IN THIS DIFFICULT PHASE IN YOUR LIFE. here I am again. I have send you like 8 emails but every time I think about something new that I must tell you.
I just want to tell you this time, that you where always my roll model (and you will always be!!!!)
