Backstreet Boys concert on Feb. 9th and June 25, 2001
Date: Jul 28, 2001 Submitted By: Brooke
I went to the Backstreet Boys concert on Feb 9th at the Mellon Arena and it was the best day of my life. I found out I was going only a day before the concert as a surprise! We go 17th row back from the stage and I had an aisle seat. Of course, there were tons of obsessed fans there, but one of many (including me) was next to us and told us about the concert the night before. She said that they were going to play a movie like they were backstage but really they are entering a secret passageway to pop up out of a smaller stage, towards the back of the arena. I couldn't believe it! She told us when to start to go to the smaller stage just a few rows behind us. She told us to go at the exact right time. We were the first row standing right next to the small stage! I couldn't believe it! I was literally about ten feet away from my fav. band in the world, the Backstreet Boys. I could of sworn Nick smiled at me and without even saying anything, my friends said,"Brooke did you see Nick smile at us?!?!?" and I couldn't believe that she noticed it too. Nick Carter actually smiled at us! That was great. Then we flew back to our seats as they started to walk on the bridge. I was right next to it! I had an aisle seat and that was, I think, the highlight of the show when the Backstreet Boys were right over my head. Of course I was waving and screaming hoping one of them would come right over the edge and look down on me. Well all of them looked down, so I got a perfect view! They are even hotter in person than on tv! They sang "The Call" and that was so entertaining because one minute they're there, then the next the went into a hole in the stage. Right after that, my family left to get out of the huge crowds that would be leaving. But luckily, this girl was like, "They sing Shape Of My Heart." Thank god she told us that or I would of missed the finale of the greatest show and greatest night of my life. Then, I went to the one at the Post Gazette Pavilion on June 25th, 2001. That was a great show also. But was really cool was that Brian's parents were there! He even said it! Unfortunately, the layout of the venue caused them not to be able to walk across the bridge again and have a small stage. But no matter what, being able to see my fav. band twice, bridge or no bridge, small stage or no small stage, I am grateful that I got to experience the phenomenons of a live Backstreet Boys concert, and I will never forget it. I LOVE THE BACKSTREET BOYS!!!!

It was the most amazing show that i have ever attented. When I thought that the concert couldn't get any better the boys rose out of the floor and walked across a bridge right over my head. As the boys walked across the bridge I received a wave from A.J and a smile from my favorite boy Brian. It was the most amazing that had ever happened to me. It was the best day of my life. I really enjoyed everything about the conceert the dancing was awesome, their voices were heavenly, and they boys were hotter than ever. I love the way the boys try the best to interact with their loving fans. I think they truly accomplished that at the Black & Blue World tour. As for now, I am anxiously awaiting to see the tour yet once again in three days.It will be the summer leg of their tour and i cannot wait to see what prizes are in store for me there. they are awesome.

The BSB concert rocked. Honestly, I think that a stage in the front of the Stadium is so much better than in the round. The meteors in the beginning were excellent[even though I had my eyes closed in the first few lol]! I loved the whole earth cracks open and out pop BSB thing. Backstreet's Back was great. Especially when they all suddenly jump out of the stage after the first "Backstreet's Back, Alright!". The little stage at the other end of the stadium was a great idea, but they looked a little cramped. And the bridge! I loved the bridge. It gave fans in the middle a chance to touch them. And in the call, when AJ came out with the cell phone. That was a great part. I really liked the part in the call when they go: Oh-oh-oh, oh ooooh, oh-oh, oh-oh oh oooh and came out in the choir suits. The end was cool when Brian came out with the I Luv Something [sorry i wasn't close enough to read it] T-shirt and threw it out into the audience. I have not been to many pop concerts, but this was certainly the best I've ever been to. Keep it up BSB! And all u BSB fans: KTBSPA!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed it so it was worth the 3-4 hour drive to see them in concert and I'll be doing it againtwice in July(one in NY and one in OH). If i could rate this out of 10 I would give it an 11! When the Backstreet Boys came to Pittsburgh, PA Feb.8 it was their first offical concert in Pittsburgh. They performed at the Mellon Arena. Well, going to the show our car broke down and I was so afraid that I was not going to get there, but we did and just in time to see opening act, Krystal, who all in all wasn't that bad. She has a good voice, but I was so anxious for the boys to come out so it seemed to drag on when she was on and to tell you the truth me and my 2 friends I were with went and bought t-shirts and other merchandise. Ok, after Krystal was over we had to wait like 20 minutes or so for the boys to come on, but eventually the lights went out and we saw the earth destroyed and then the Backstreet Boys appeared on the stage from underneath smoke and went right into Everyone which was followed by Larger Than Life and me and my friends were doing the dance, of course. After Shining Star, there was a backstage video and they showed the boys changing their clothes so we saw them shirtless and in their bocxers. Yumm! The whole backstage video was really cute and really funny especailly when they showed AJ on the toilet. After the video the boys came out on a round stage that was on the opposite end of the floor of the main stage and there they sand a medley of songs and The Answer To Our Life and they had an enviromental video playing during that song. After TATOL a bridge lowerd from the main stage and connected to the little round stage and on the bridge they did Time. After Time, they went back on the main stage where they performed several more songs. After performing those several other songs, AJ came out and said, "Pittsburgh, I've got some bad news for you. This is the last song of the night." and you could hear the disappointment throughout the whole crowd. Well, then AJ's cell started ringing and he asked if he should answer to and we told him to and when he did answer it that was the beginning of The Call. There was a relly cool dance during this one and at the very end of the song when they say "gotta go" they dropped down in these holes that were in the stage. They had been using these holes throughtout that whole show. Well, after The Call there was like a 2 or 3 minute light show and the boys came back and did Shape Of My Heart and when Shape Of My Heart was over they did the chorus dance of The Call and then they said "gotta go" and dropped back down into those holes and that was the end of the show. It was the best 2 hours of my life and I was so sad that it had to end, but as someone once said, "All good things must come to an end." I really really hope that the boys will come back on their stadium summer tour because I would love to see them again because they put on the best show that I had even seen and that I will ever see unless I see them again. If you are going to a show, you will have the time of your life. Well, I know this was kind of long but thanks for reading it and oh, don't worry I had my hearing and my voice back in 2 days! KTBSPA ya'll!

Hi! It's me again! My sister Stefanie (aka Nikki), our friend Marcia (aka Reginamomo), and I went to The Backstreet Boys concert in Pittsburgh PA on Feb.8, 2001. Which was their first official concert performance there! After Krystal was over and the little girls stopped screaming in our ears we had to wait awhile until our boys came on! When the lights went off and of course we all started to scream. After the world was destroyed (You'd know what I'm talking about if you went to The Black and Blue tour!) our boys came out. The screaming was of course was at the highest pitch you could imagine. They started singing "Everyone" and everyone was singing with them. They sounded like kids because of all the girls and boys singing along with them. From that they went into "Larger Than Life". My sister and I started doing the dances along with them (We're dancers. We dance to their songs sometimes like "Everybody" and of course "Larger Than Life".) Anyway, my goodness did A.J. look so darn sexy! See, I have loved A.J. since 1992 when he was on a show on Nickelodeon. HE IS SO HOT! Yum!!!! "Shining Star" was so cute. Precious. I personally liked when A.J. was getting undressed and dressed in the locker room. The sexy man! After the locker room video they appeared on a little black and white circle stage. It was right by us. When they started to sing my favorite song, I freaked (I freaked before that too!) and if that wasn't good enough A.J. waved to me! I almost fainted and collapsed. But luckily I didn't because I would have missed Howie pointing at us everytime he came around where we were. Brian waved at my sister and she freaked even though her fav's Nick. Brian's her second fav. But she treasured the wave anyway. When they went onto the bridge it was also so cool because it was over the audience. Overall, it was a night that I will never forget!

My sister, Stefanie (Nikki) our friend, Marcia (Reginamomo), and I went to The Backstreet Boys concert in Pittsburgh, PA on Feb.8! It was so great. It was their first official concert performance when we went! I was screaming "I love you A.J." the whole time. I've loved A.J. ever since 1992 when he was on the Nickelodeon series "Honey I'm Home". Oh my goodness was he hot!!!! We were right by the little stage and while they were singing my favorite song, A.J. waved to me and of course I was about to collapse, but I didn't. Brian waved to my sister and Howie kept pointing at us everytime he came around to where we were. That night was definently the best night of my life! P.S. Go Marcia!

On Thursday Feb. 8, 2001, I saw for the the third time, the Backstreet Boys!! Our seats were 10 rows from the side of the stage and so awesome! As the lights went down and the music started the energy skyrocked. Throughout the show I kept leaving my seat and running down the 5th row until the security guy yelled at me. The sexiest part of the whole show was during "Not For Me" when wind blew their shirts right off their bodies. Part of the show was backstage with Brian giving Nick a toilet. The show went on and during the encore ("Shape Of My Hear") Nick was laying on our side of the stage and I decided I had to get down there. So I ran past the security guard, jumped over a chair and missed Nick. But not to fear Brian came up and shook our hands and then so did Howie. It was the best.
On Friday my friend called and told me she had a ticket for me. It was from a scalper and we waited in the Marriot for 45 minutes. When we got to the arena we were so hyped. The show was great and all the same things happened. Aj asked the crowd who was there the night before, and my screams was one of the few heard. At the encore I again left my seat realizing I had film to take pictues. They're so close, but I again missed Nick. I got pictures of Brian and Howie (which is pretty ironic) but these were two of the best nights of my life.

I was in total shock on Feb. 9, because I was going to see my boys. Getting tickets was a miracle, and even though I traveled from out of state(I live in Youngstown, Ohio) they were SO worth it.
We finally got through the mob of fans, and found our seats after buying the necessary souvenirs. When the lights went down, and the pyro started, I screamed along with everyone in the place, camera aimed and waiting. I finally saw what I'd been dreaming of: BSB rising on columns out of the smoky air. For two seconds, life was perfect-then reality set in and my camera started flashing.
I sang along, screamed, took pictures, and had the time of my life. When the boys sang "Time" on the bridge, I was felt so close to them. A.J. was right in front of me, and it seems he was singing only to me. I will always cherish this night in my life, and I can't wait until they come back. A.J.-I love you! Keep The Backstreet Pride Alive!!!!!

My experience in Pittsburgh on Feb. 8th and 9th were awsome! I had to travel from out of state to come (I live in Stow, Ohio), but it was way worth it.
On Thursday, we arrived at our hotel only to find it was the same exact one the Backstreet Boys were staying in (how completely lucky)! There were girls and security milling all around. We then went up to our rooms and got ready to go. The concert that night was awsome. It had great dancing, pyrotechnics, and ,of course, the Boys were HOT. After the concert we went back to the hotel and waited in the lobby until about 3:00 am to try to get a glimpse. Much to our dismay, we didn't see the Boys; however, we did meet their keyboard player, Dave, and he played a couple songs for us on a grand piano, and we met two of their dancers.
Since we had so much fun on Thursday night, we decided to try to score tickets for Friday. Miraculously, we got the most awsome tickets! We sat right next to the right wing of the stage. I was right on the corner. I almost passed out when I saw how good our seats were! During the concert, we got to touch AJ's, Brian's, Kevin's, and Howie's hands (Nick never came to our side). Brian was joking with us for awhile. He said hello to us and mimicked some of our actions. I don't know if any of you who were there noticed, but at the end Howie was playing with hairspray. That was my hairspray (WOW)!!! Friday night's concert was so incredible. I have never had so much fun in my life! I hope all of you can have as much fun as I did in future concerts.

On Christmas Day, I wasn't expecting much. I knew BSB was coming to my hometown, but I knew I didn't stand a chance at tickets. To my surprise, my mom was able to get tickets!!!! I was so happy! The concert was on February 9th, 2001. Our seats were on the floor, but kinda far back. The singing was OUTSTANDING and the dancing / special effects blew me and my friends away. The best part was the 2nd stage! They came to a stage in the center of the floor and sang 3 songs! My seat was about 5 ft. away from them! After the songs, they started walking back to the stage on a ramp. I had already got some awesome pictures, but my best came now when Brian looked over toward me. After the concert, everyone agreed that this was the best concert they had ever seen! Even my mom agreed! I hope they come back to PITTSBURGH so i can see them again!! <3

Okay, it was like 7:00 in the morning on Friday and I had just woke up. I was excited because in an hour my mom and I were going to leave to get my friend and her mom to go to Pittsburgh. I live in Ohio so we had to travel to see them! We left and drove straight through and got to the hotel at about 11:30a.m. we looked gross so we went up to get changed. Then we ate lunch and shopped around a little. When we came back to the hotel, we saw some girls with BSB shirts on. So my friend Kara and I asked them if they went to the show the night before, they said yes and that they saw BSB arrive at gate 5 at about 5:00pm. Kara and I thanked them so we went back to our room to get ready. Then about 4:00pm. We walked to the Mellon Arena. We ran around searching for backstage passes but had no luck. Then about 5:00pm a bus pulled down to gate 5. And Nick's dad got out, we screamed and took pictures. Then Nick came out and waved, then he went inside. Then a few mintutes later we saw another bus come only it stopped before the entrance. AJ McLean got out and walked down the walkway, he's my fav so I started taking pics of him. He turned around and waved and smiled then went in. We had seen our fav guys so we went to wait in line to be the first ones in. We talked to some fans and Krystal went out the the van for the radio station and we listined to her. Then they let us in a little after 6:30. We got in the got our program guides and glow sticks. Then went to find our seats. They were pretty good! Then we went to get t-shirts and postcards and a keychain. Then we took our seats. Krystal went on stage, she was alright, i guess! Then BSB came on. I took 4 rolls of film and by the end of the night they were gone. They always go an ancohor but we knew after that, they would run to the buses. So after they sang the "last song" before the ancohor we ran out to gate 5 to wait for them. We talked to a guy that worked their and he told us when they were going to come out. It was dark so we couldn't get pics but we saw them run to their bus. Then we went back to our hotel and called it a night. The concert itself was awesome and I loved the way they went out to that little platform to get closer. AJ was so cute, while shaking his booty. They all looked and sounded so good! If you haven't seen it yet....GO SEE IT! It's so good! I can't wait to get my pics developed! I LOVE YOU AJ!

I sat on the floor but I was prety far back (not knowing they were gonna come out to the middle of the arena!!) but I still could see everything!! I think my fav part was when they came out the the round stage in the middle of the arena and they sang their songs there!! OMG!!! I went crazy, I swear that Brian laughed at me when he waved and I screamed!! LoL!! All the boys looked so hot!! I didn't want the concert to end. That was the best concert I have ever been to!! They preformed great and didn't forget anybody there!! They remembered everyone from the front row to the last row!! One of the greatest parts was when the went into the dressing room and showed them in there!! Nick is so hot!! LoL!! The concert was GREAT!!! KTBSPA!!!!

I went to the concert in my hometown, Pittsburgh, on Thursday, February 8th. After over 2 months of waiting to go, I was so hyped that whole day that I think I was annying about EVERYONE around me! lol. I got home and got ready for the concert, it took me about 2 hours and I still wasn't ready! lol
Driving into Pittsburgh was great!! I heard the Backstreet Boys 3 times in the car and I wanted to cry! We were there over 3 hours early for a poster contest so it wasn't too crowded. When I got out of the car, I ran along the street and and sidewalk yelling at cars "I'm going to see the Backstreet Boys". I was alreayd having the best time and the show wasn't even near starting.
I was kinda bummed when the show started though, only because we had lost a contest that my cousin and I had been working on for awhile. Also, I totally lost my screaming voice trying to win tickets, but nothing worked!!
I wasn't as close as I wanted to be, but I was grateful I was even going. I'm definitely one of the crazy fans you see on TV and I wanted to meet them, but the concert was enough (The tickets sold out in 19 minutes!!)
The beginning of the show was awesome, I won't give it away for some fan that are waiting to go, just a lot of space and comets ect. They opened with Everyone/Larger then Life. I'd have to say that their dancing was so tight this tour, better then last years. My favorite performance was "Not for me". The outfits, dancing, wind, scenery, everything was perfect!!
When they took you backstage to show you their dressing room, it was hilarious. They were all joking aorund and AJ had his shirt off! Next thing I know, they were on another stage a couple rows infront of me singing 'i'll never break your heart" and "How did I fall in love with you?" I almost got kicked out. We wren't supposed to have cameras, and I snuck down the where the stage was and took a picture. I ran form the security so he never caught me! lol.
Overall, the show was a lot different from the Millennium tour. The Black and BLue tour deals a lot with nature, and saving it actually. Most of the scenery was the sun, moon, sky, earth, and they even dedicated "Answer to our lives" to saving the earth! It was an awesome show and I can't wait for them to come to my hometown again so that I don't have to travel out of state and get car sick again!! Any questions just email me! lol

We arrived at the Mellon Arena at about 6:30 Friday night. There were millions of bsb fans outside, the majority teenage girls. They let us into the arena. The stage looked so awesome. Krystal performed. She has an amazing voice. I got to meet her after the show. She is soo nice. I got an autograph and a pic with her. Our seats were close to the stage. Finally, the bsb came out. OMG they look hotter than ever!!
They opened up with "Everyone" singing "this one goes out to you". I was screaming my lungs out till I couldn't scream no more. They sang more songs, then they asked us to visit their dressing rooms. The crowd screamed louder. It was sooo cutie. Kevin couldn't find his boot, Brian gave Nick a toliet for his birthday, Howie was hogging the mirror, and A.J. was taking off his shirt. They came out on the other side of the arena and sang "i'll never break your heart" followed by HDIFILWY. When Howie hit that high note, I thought I was going to burst in tears.
Then they lowered a catwalk and walked across to the stage. They were singing "Time" as they walked across. I got Brian and Howie to wave at me. They did all I have to give. They were wearing cowboy hats. OMG KEVIN LOOKED SOOOO HOT IN THAT HAT!!!!!!!!!! A.J. and Kevin both commented on how many beautiful ladies there were in the house. Then they did GNB, THE CALL, and SOMH.
