All dogs need a job. They want to feel useful and neeedd. It is up to you as his Alpha to channel his energies in productive rather than destructive directions. Give Buster a job. It may be learning tricks with you, or going for walks on a leash with you in clearly in charge providing him direction. Let Buster entertain you in other ways. Acknowledge and reward those other ways of entertainment Extinguish the burying behaviors by refusing to give him attention good or bad for his burying toys. Stop giving him any kind of attention for his current destructive behavior.Train him to bury his bones and toys in an acceptable location.Or you could just change your attitude and start looking at his current behaviors as just one more example of his adorableness. Torn up carpets and sofas become a monument to his cuteness. You could get a buddy for him. This would be an older, wiser dog that does not engage in any kind of destructive behaviors. This Buddy dog would work to keep Buster in line. (a full time job for the Buddy dog)GOOD LUCK
