The Perfect Fan, the song Littrell wrote for his mom on the Backstreet Boys mega-hit album Millennium.

But the choir, it seems, isn't done with its 15 minutes of fame.

``Back in June, Brian called me from Brussels,'' said Turner, director of the Tates Creek High School choir. Littrell wanted to know whether his hometown choir could perform with Backstreet Boys when it came to Lexington during their U.S. tour.

Turner was a little surprised. ``It was like: `Really?'

``And Brian said, `Yeah,' so I said: `OK, we'll be ready.' ''

Even more voices

The choir, which will perform Friday and Saturday at Rupp Arena, in March recorded its part for the album at the University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts. The group consists of current or former Tates Creek students. (The choir also includes students from Dunbar and Henry Clay high schools and UK.) In addition to most of the 45 who sang on Millennium, there will be a few dozen new voices, bringing the choir to about 70 strong.

Many of the singers are Littrell's old choir buddies, including Eschelle King and Leslie Carter, who are thrilled they get to see their pal again. Another happy camper is Tates Creek grad Tasha Webb.

``Just to be able to be on the CD, much less sing at the concert, is awesome,'' said Webb, now a freshman at UK. ``It's an incredible experience.''

Webb's sister is a junior at Tates Creek and in the choir. ``She didn't get to sing on the CD, but she'll be at Rupp, so she's kinda freakin' out about it.''

Monica Webb, 16, was definitely freakin'. She was a little breathless on the day she found out she'd be one of the new voices. ``I just found out 20 minutes ago,'' she said. So, she's a little bit of a fan? ``Yes! I love them! I love Brian!''

Monica's working on containing her excitement when it comes time to practice with the group and singing on stage in front of thousands. ``I'm going to have to,'' she said. ``It would look really stupid on my part if I didn't.''

And sister Tasha says of her temporary choir director Littrell: ``Everybody's extremely comfortable with Brian, and he's comfortable with us.''
