I know this seems late and after the fact but, felt I needed to say my piece. Also for the record I am not a preteen or a teenager. I won't say my age but I will say I am over 30.

The Backstreet Boys are a remarkable class A act. They proved this when they came to Detroit November 5,6,7. I was very disappointed with the Metro Detroit Male population and I feel I must apologize for their rude behavior.

When the BSB visited our city and we had the opportunity to have them sing the National Anthem at the Pistons Basketball game.

Well I am an avid Pistons fan and go to a lot of games throughout the year. Unfortunately other circumstance prevented me from attending this game. I would have loved to have seen the BSB sing and of course watch the Pistons. I did of course get to see the boys sing on the television. I thought that they looked wonderful. Class act they were dressed appropriately to sing our country's National Anthem, and they did a wonderful job in performing it.

I was very disappointed in the Piston fans which I am sure is mostly men. When they proceeded to boo the boys before they sang. How rude!!!!!!! Ok not everyone has to be a BSB fan. That is crazy to expect that. But on the other hand why would you be so rude. I am not a Korn fan but, if they were a guest in my city and were asked to sing the National Anthem I would not ever think of booing them.

My heart really goes out to the BSB. They are so great. I have seen and heard other groups bash the boys with blow up doll. And that naked group doing the video bashing on male groups "Grow up" "you jealous things". Why not just play your own music and let us enjoy ours. Again jealousy. But what do our boys do they shrug it off never saying a bad thing about anyone. To me that shows class and total self-assurance. I commend them for not retorting back. It's stuff like that "that" makes me luv them even more. They have taken such ridicule from the media, regarding the Rainbow Make A Wish Foundation. Again they did not retort back with anger they just explained themselves and tried to make people realize that just because they are who they are dose not mean every waking hour has to be spent being a BSB.

They just like all of you deserve some time off. I work with people everyday and no matter what, I have to be friendly and sweet and understanding. Well, when I leave work I leave it there and don't have to take it home. I am a professional I work in a local hospital in Livonia and when I leave at night I am free to be me. Now I don't think that the boys were complaining about what is expected of them they know that goes with the territory. But there schedules are just packed with interviews, practice, everything that goes into putting on a show three days a week every weekend etc... I really felt sorry for that little child just like myself I would love to meet them and I'm healthy. I really got teary eyed when I first heard the story. But, sometimes things just don't happen.

Schedules/commitments are made and can not be broken. But to bash them on the radio, television, and papers is totally uncalled for. BSB I must apologize for the rudeness of the male Piston fans. Know wonder they didn't stay to watch the game. Would you? I think that the insecurity of men in general is too much. I have a wonderful husband who made sure he got me tickets to see the BSB on that Sunday. He also came with me and became a fan as well. I don't think he luvs them like I do but, he has come to appreciate the talent that they posses. I believe that is what the BSB want. The respect that they deserve. So gal's it is up to you to convenience your men that the BSB pose no threat to them. Hey my husband even went out and bought his own Millennium CD. The BSB have been hurt by fans, media, etc… Someone is always waiting for them to slip up. Hey I see that the BSB have built themselves a little wall around them to protect themselves from the vultures out there.

Well I have said my piece and I hope that I haven't offended anyone. Just wanted to say what I said. If you have a different opinion write me and I will listen or if you agree you can write me also. Please no hate mail I will only delete it.

Thanks!
