The Backstreet Boys are still not my favorite boy band!

But I am back again, too. You may remember me from my last article. “The Backstreet Boys are not my favorite Boy Band”. I guess you can say this is part two. But it doesn’t just talk about them not being a boy band. It will talk about some of the things that annoy me about some BSB fans or just about how fans and other people react to BSB. Oh, if during this article I repeat myself from the first article, please just ignore it. First of all I would like to thank all of you who read my first article and to those of you who responded. I am sorry to those who I didn’t write back to. I’m kinda busy with school and other stuff. I hope that you understand. Also I noticed that some of you have put my other article on your website. I think that is great, but I think that you should ask first. I will say yes anyways, it is just some common courtesy. Harmonies are very important to singing groups. It is probably a key element. Along with having distinct voices. They can sing in harmony and they all have solos. They have Howie covering the high parts and Kevin covering the low parts, and Nick, Brian and AJ get everything in between. ‘m sure you can see how their voices have changed, grown, and matured from “Tell Me That I’m Dreaming” to “Show Me The Meaning”. They allow each one of their distinct singing voices to be heard. They each have at least one song that they sing solo and they have some songs where each one of them sings separately. Their songs have so much emotion and soul. They also have a lot of “heart” if you know what I am saying. I would find it hard to listen other groups singing BSB or BSB style songs. I can’t really explain what kind of sound they have, but it is very uplifting and just make you feel good. They have the kind of music that can bring many people up and make them feel good. Even their music videos are somewhat distinct. You don’t see that many groups or artists dressing up in their music videos or concerts and doing lots of crazy and unique things that BSB can and will do. I even get a headache or I just laugh thinking about other artists trying to do what the Backstreet Boys. One thing that I dislike about many of the BSB fans are the way that they say how each one of the members is “mine”, or how they will marry them. I don’t like going into a chat room and see people fighting over, Kevin, Howie, Nick, AJ or Brian. It just plain irritates me. I would like to add, that those of you who complain about any of the BSB’s girlfriends need to stop. They should not ”die” or have anything bad happen to them. If a member BSB is happy with their girlfriends, then you should be happy with that member of BSB. You just have to learn that they have normal lives and that they have girlfriends. Also, that those relationships may or may not work out. I don’t mind that you have a favorite BSB and you think that he is cute, but you shouldn’t make it into an obsession. That may separate true BSB fans from the teenybopper fans. Another thing that irritates me are rumors. Rumors are one of the worst things in the world. They should not start or be passed along. They are usually false and they are annoying. They take a situation concerning BSB and it is exaggerated. They are also very disturbing. Sometimes they can scare those who believe them. I say that we should ignore all of the rumors about BSB and rumors dealing with BSB and their girlfriends. Another point I would like to add is that BSB are older now, well Nick is the only one who isn’t legal yet. They should be able to do whatever they want. If they want to drink or smoke (I am not saying that they do), they should be free to do it, because it is their right. You should not look at they as roll models, because they are normal people and they can make mistakes. They are not perfect and they have their own flaws such as bad habits. Also that they should just inspire by their actions and music. I have been inspired by their music. I began to appreciate music more and felt more relaxed in life. Their music give you a good feeling. I first listened to QPGWMH and I was hooked. Then when I got their first American album I was inspired again by the words they wrote in their acknowledgements. “Millennium” just give me more to enjoy. For you chat room freaks, please stop asking for BSB screen names. You know that all of them are posers. You know that they can’t be online and doing a concert at the same time. Also if you look at their profile and it has the same information as BSB, then it probably is a fake. I there should be a large poser list that everybody can add to when they find another one. Anyways if a BSB was to go online I doubt that their SN would do anything with them. They just want to keep on the downlow, right? While I am still on the topic of chat rooms, I would like to discuss BSB haters. I know you hate them and there is almost no way of stopping them. You could put them on ignore, I think that it would be the best way to get rid of them. Most of the haters, from my experience are the skaters that like Korn or the NSYNC fans. Please don’t fight with them. It is just a waste of time. We don’t have to listen to them. We know that BSB is the best and there is no other that can compare. We don’t need to fight back, unless you really have to. I only do it like once a month. But, still try to not do it at all. We need to stop the BSB vs. NSYNC. Just leave them be as separate bands and not fight over who is better. I doubt that there is a rivalry between Korn and Limp Bizkit fans, right? I have many things to talk about dealing with their music. They have many songs out there. You can find many of them on every BSB web site you go to. I have probably heard 95% of them. I will “create” 3 CD’s that they should release sometime in the future, probably when they have a downtime (a time when they aren’t touring or making music”). The first one is the “European Experience”. It includes all of the songs that they have released on their two European albums and that were not on the American Album. It should include: “Boys Will Be Boys”, “Just to be Close”, “I Wanna Be With You”, “Every Time I Close My Eyes”, “Let’s Have a Party”, “Roll With It”, “Nobody But You”, “Missing You”, “Lay Down Beside Me”, “Like A Child”, “10,000 Promises”, “That’s the Way I Like It” and “That’s What She Said”. Also they should come out with a double called “Unreleased and Unplugged” CD one should include: “By My Side”, “Christmas Time”, “Give Me Your Heart”, “If You Stay”, “I’ll Never Find Someone Like You”, “Tell Me That I’m Dreaming”, “I’ll be There For You”, “My Heart Stays With You”, “You Wrote the Book On Love”, “I Want It That Way (Demo Version)”, “Who Do You Love”, and “Where Can We Go From Here”. CD Two should include: “Don’t Leave Me”, “Let’s Make a Toast To Our Love”, “If I Don’t Have You”, “All I Have To Give (Part II – Conversation Mix)”, “Heaven in Your Eyes”, “Tender Love”, “Let The Music Heal You Soul”, “Rub-a-Dub”, “Nunca Te Hare Llorar”, “Donde Quieres Yo Ire”, “Treat Me Right” (the song featuring Foxy Brown), “If You Knew What I Knew”, and “What’s The Bottom Line”. If you can come up with better titles for these three CD’s or CD and double CD please feel free to e-mail them to me. Also if you have some other songs that you would like to add to CD two please feel free to tell me. I would also like to know who would buy these CD’s if they ever came out with something like what I have written. Since I am talking about songs, I have heard some reviews about "Millennium", and some of the people downgrade "The One". It sees that many people don't like that song. Well, tell me if you like or dislike the song and tell me why. Also if you were to replace that song, what would you replace it with. They should also come out with a Christmas Album, not this year, but next year. They would be too burned out to pop out great material if they have to rush it. I heard that one was supposed to come out this year and then it was cancelled. If anybody can e-mail me with what really happened I would be thankful. The Backstreet Boys so far have had a wonderful year. After the troubled times and some success they had last year. This year was by far their best. Last year they had some personal problems that they dealt with. Brian’s heart surgery, their management troubles, and the passing of Howie’s sister, and Brian and Kevin’s grandfather. They have proved their success to the world. Their current tour is its second phase, the North American Tour (but I think it should be called the US Tour, because they only have like three to five dates in Canada and none in Mexico). Anyways, they are about halfway done with North American Tour, and I have heard many of the review, and almost all of them are great reviews. I will give you guys my review after I go to their concert on Oct. 14, I will probably give it Catlin on the weekend and hopefully she publishes it. BSB are very different. They can even be called trendsetters. They sold all of their tickets at the same time, which was never heard of before. That proved successful. During the MTV VMAs they wore some clothes that I have never seen before and something out of the ordinary. Not to mention what they wore during the performance and in the music video, very stylish and very unique, just like they are. They mainly do it for the fans, and not for the money or the fame. Next Year for those music awards such as the Billboards, Grammies, AMAs, etc. I hope that BSB wins at least one award for each show. They have shown that their music is appreciated by millions around the world. They have proved themselves to the world two years in a row. They are the most successful artists of 1999. Their record-breaking ticket sales were expected by some and surprised others. They sold out over 95% of their tickets within the first hour. Plus, they had to add new shows to keep up with the demand. Many of their shows sold out in less than ten minutes, breaking records held by Madonna, Garth Brooks, and Bruce Springsteen, in some cities. They broke the record for the most albums sold in one week with over 1.13 million. So far in the almost five months that it has been out “Millennium” has gone eight times platinum and is approaching nine fast. It was the number one album for over four weeks and has been in the top three since its release on May 18, except last week. By the looks of it “Millennium” should become diamond by the end of the year. I believe that it is due to their music maturing. Their new album has songs that have deeper meanings and more emotion. They put a lot of effort into it and thanked their fans and their moms. None of their songs are ambiguous and they are very clear, but some of their songs may have hidden meanings that only some pick up on. I would be very disappointed if BSB doesn’t win a Grammy and/or an AMA. They have sold the most albums, have the best tour, and have lots of fan power. They have shown their growth and hopefully it continues into the Millennium. Oh, a side note I would like to add is about the TRL show on October 6, 1999. NSYNC and Gloria Estefan were on the show and Carson said that BSB was number one. Then he mentioned that Lou Pearlman was making a boy band and he was holding auditions. He said that Lou is hoping to make “Another NSYNC, Backstreet Boys….”. When he said Backstreet Boys I distinctively heard some of the NSYNC members laughing in a strange manner. I hope it was at the fact that Lou was making another boy band and not at the mention of BSB. I would like to know what you think. Please do not discuss this with other people too much, then it might become a rumor and I would not enjoy that. As I said before I hate rumors, this is just something for you to think about. I hope you all had a good BSB day on October 8. Yes that is right BSB Day. It was declared last year by the mayor of Orlando. She was grateful for their efforts in the Hurricane relief fund. They were given a key to the city. Disclaimer: I am not calling any other pop groups boy bands, but I am just telling how BSB are not even close to being one.
