Ever hummed "I Want It That Way" and "...Baby One More Time" for a day straight? Thank one man for your tune swoon: Max Martin.

This supersongster has a flair for creating some of the catchiest songs for the fab acts like the Backstreet Boys, 'N Sync, and Britney Spears. So who is this musical magician who makes radio rock? Seven years ago, Max was a floundering singer in Sweden, jamming in a heavy metal band called It's Alive. But when the group thought his songs sounded too poppy, his future in the music business looked cloudy. Undeterred, Max pushed his tunes elsewhere, and the rest is pop history.

Now Max cranks out so many hot hits that he's considered one of the most successful tunesters in music. This year he nabbed the prestigious Songwriter of the Year award from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. His knack for the tracks is clear from the first note you hear: When he played Britney the "Baby" demo, she immediately adored it. As the pop princess says, "I knew from the it was one of those songs you'd want to hear again and again." That magic touch for making memorable melodies is exactly why everyone's so mad for Max.

"britney spears wrote 3 of 11 songs, and N sync wrote i want you back, tearin up my heart, and bsb wrote on their first album" in came from YM magazine, which is known for their mistakes in their mag.

BSB didnt write on the first record on this one! Britney spears surely didn't write anything N sync didn't write those songs either. Look at their credits if u really want to know! I swear it's a misprint by YM we should tell them!
