I have to begin by saying that I both love and enjoy Backstreet Boys which is sad to see how TV media, Radio stations and Magazines portray them as attracting "younger" fans. Yes, I am an "older" fan and proud of it! I am 28 yrs old and love these guys, not because they are good looking but because their music is great! I've liked them since day one when I heard "we've got it going on". I heard it once and then that was it. I never knew what they looked like. Then (I think) a couple of years later, I remember being in a club and heard "quit playing games" (with my heart).I asked th d j who sang the song and he told me BSB. I went out and bought their cd the next day and to my surprise there it was "we've got it going on" From that day I was hooked and their cd is great.

The reason I say that BSB is being portrayed as "teeny boppers" is because I was watching MTV Fanatic, (I love and I watch the show). The backstreet boys were on and I just had to watch. I was so interested in the show that I decided to go on MTV's website and see what it's all about! Well, the rules clearly state that a fan has to stand in front of a camera and prove why you are the number 1 fan. Also, your bedroom has to be filled w/ BSB memorbilia and do something out of the ordinary. Right there it shows that program is geared for "younger" fans. You know "older" fans would not have all that in their bedroom and they would not do something ordinary. So I guess if an "older" fan would do that, it would probably be ridiculous. Also, I remember reading an article in Rolling Stone magazine and it said what happens at a BSB concert when Nick sings "Am I sexual?", The answer was how a bunch of screaming 15 YEAR OLD FANS go into a FRENZY! Well, I have to tell you I thought it was pretty exciting to see Nick sing and dance to that part regardless of his age.

I remember hearing a dj at my local radio station and she said how she "is in love with BSB", how awesome is that! An "older" fan admitting that on the radio. I guess that radio station is off the hook! The radio station is WKTU and the djs name is Michelle Versage. Everyone needs to realize how there will be various fans, old and young when it comes to BSB! I do follow the band when they are being interviewed and you see the "younger" Fans standing outside hoping to catch a glimpse!

Is it ridiculous if an "older" fan does the same thing? I would love to meet them and just say HI.(Nothing crazy and no crying). But then again, everyone might think how SILLY it would be if someone "OLDER" meets BSB! I think they are great!

Also, It's hard to enter a contest because it's geared more for the "younger" fans. These contests are always asking the age and in my experience they will pick a "younger" fan, which is great. At my age I don't want to enter a contest, I just want to enjoy them and the music! The contest should be left for the "younger" fans. It's great how loyal these "younger" fans are, however "Older" Fans are just as loyal.

I did go out and buy the cds. I have to say how great Millennium is and it is a shame how everyone states that BSB music is for "younger" listeners. If you listen to the words of those songs it is also about everyday life and not just what happens to "younger" people. "Older" fans do have feelings just as "younger" fans do. What a stereotype world we live in when you hear people commenting how this groups music is geared more for "younger" listeners. That is so not true!!!! It's for both "younger" and "older" fans! I'm not knocking the "younger" fans, they are great and so dedicated to them!

I love and enjoy reading stories on the internet on how these "younger" fans met BSB! The "older" fans should not be knocked either espescially if we enjoy them and the music. "OLDER" FANS NEED TO BE RECOGNIZED! I'm not saying BSB only recognizes the "younger" crowd. We all know they love female fans regardless of the age. I watched the disney special and the concert was great. Brian said that they are not just for 9 and 10 year olds but for everyone. I was very happy when I heard that!!!!

I just needed to let everyone know how an "OLDER" FAN feels about BSB! My point is, I think people, the press, Radio stations and everyone out there needs to stop portraying and commenting how BSB are entertainers for "younger" fans only.Their music is for EVERYONE! This issue should be addressed. Lets "ALL" start to enjoy music regardless who and where it comes from and how old we are! Music is put into the world for everyone to enjoy! So we should not judge and we do not have the right to say what age group should listen!!!

Thank you for listening!!!!!

P.S. I can't wait for BSB to do their U.S. tour, I know I will be going!!!!!!!!!!
