Date: Aug 11, 2099 Rhythming "fire" with "desire" may seem particularly cheesy bit of song-writing but set to music and crooned by the Backstreet Boys, it works - several thousand times over as can be seen by the huge sales of the Boys' new album, Millennium. Yup, Backstreet's back, alright. This album repeats the winning formula of its predecessor - dancey pop tunes and sweet ballads, all produced to a high-shine, and rendered with finease and aplomb. The Backstreet Boys may not be the cutest boy group around, but they're certainly the best at selling themselves like they're God's gift to teenage girls ; plus they exude enough cockiness to appeal to little boys, too. The music, thus, beside the point, but happily, it's actually quite enjoyable ; perfect party music, really, with just the right number of tracks to jive to (Larger Than Life, Don't Want You Back, It's Gotta Be You), as well as a good number that are excellent schmooze material (Show Me The Meaning of Being Lonely, I Need You Tonight, The Perfect Fan). With the attendant videos, this album can't fail. Alright! - DVL Please visit my Nick Carter site at http://nickeyes.iscute.com
