On the morning of Aug. 14, Backstreet Boys fans will be hoping to hit the lottery -- but we're not talkin' Powerball.

Before tickets go on sale at TicketMaster outlets a week from Saturday, there will be a wristband lottery for the Nov. 26 Backstreet Boys show at Rupp Arena. The number on the wristband will determine your space in the line for ticket purchases, said TicketMaster spokeswoman Sarah Hankins.

Lexington's last memorable ticket lottery was for Garthapalooza -- Garth Brooks' series of three Rupp shows last year. Lottery numbers for the Backstreet Boys concert will be given out at each TicketMaster outlet at 9 a.m. Aug. 14; the lottery is then drawn at 9:30, and wristband wearers are put in line according to their numbers. Ticket sales will begin at 10.

Tickets for the show are $29.50 and $38.50, and will be available at TicketMaster outlets, which include Kroger stores. Tickets will also be available at the Rupp Arena box office, but Rupp officials have not released details.

The group -- which includes Kentuckians Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson -- is wrapping up its European tour. The Boys kick off their U.S. tour Sept. 15 in Orlando, where the group formed. The tour runs through early December.

The Boys told MTV yesterday that they will return to Orlando next week to shoot a video for their next single, Larger Than Life.

If you can't wait 112 days to see Backstreet Boys in Lexington, or if you need more than just one fix, here are a few other dates.

Nov. 15: Cincinnati, Ohio (Firstar Arena)

Nov. 28: Knoxville (Thompson-Boling Arena)

Nov. 29: Nashville (Nashville Arena)

And now for something really different: VH1's new sketch comedy show, Random Play, shows us what would happen if Backstreet Boys headed the cast of the critically acclaimed (and now defunct) crime drama Homicide: Life on the Street. Of course you would get: Homicide: Life on the Backstreets. The parody show airs at 10 p.m. Saturday on VH1.

Feel lucky? Backstreet Boys are just the ticket
