Date: Dec 20, 2000 'N Sync will come face to face with arch-rivals Backstreet Boys on 28 January when both bands perform at the US Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida. 'N Sync, along with rockers Aerosmith will provide the halftime entertainment during the game for what is traditionally the highest rated TV show of the year in the US while the Backstreet Boys will kick off proceedings by singing the national anthem before the game together with veteran R&B singer Ray Charles. Publicists for 'N Sync and Aerosmith said on Monday they do not yet know what exactly the bands will do during the halftime celebration. 'Everything's still being ironed out,' Aerosmith's rep, Marcee Rondan, said. The Boston band, who are nearing completion of their first album since 1997's Nine Lives, will be inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in March. The 2000 Super Bowl halftime show featured a duet between pop singers Christina Aguilera and Enrique Iglesias, as well as performances from Phil Collins and Toni Braxton.
