Date: Oct 25, 2000 Moderator: Welcome Pollyanna!! Anything that you'd like to say to your fans, before we get started with their questions? Pollyanna: Hi everyone. I just got back from New York and L.A. I've been,0busy recording, writing, and performing!Hope everyone is doing well. I can't wait, to get started... Moderator: osprey asks: Pollyanna is a very unusual name...howd you get, it? Pollyanna: I was named after my mother and my aunt. My mom is Paula, but, when she was young they called her Pauli. My godmother, who is also my aunt, is Anna Mae. I was named after both of them. Hence, we have Pollyanna!:) Moderator: jennmamma asks: do you read about yourself in magazines? Pollyanna: Sure, when they come out! It's lots of fun to see what people write about me. And thank God it's all been good so far. Pollyanna: 0Oh Yeah! FYI: Check out Teen Beat Mag starting Jan. 2001. I'm going to be their new columnist, "Ask Pollyanna". I'll be answering questions and giving advice about the biz and any questions that readers send in for me to answer for advice.Speaking of everyone, everyone's really looking forward to hearing your music. Moderator: iluvnobody asks: if you and all the backstreet boys were on the show Survivor, who would be voted off the island first? Pollyanna: probably me! since I'm a girl...the guys would probably view it as a Boy Scout event or something like that. lol Moderator: Born_4_Luv asks: if you weren't famous, whose concert would you wait in line for tickets for? Pollyanna: I have waited in line for tickets for Gloria Estefan. Moderator: Born_4_Luv asks: Whose your favorite boyband? Pollyanna: well the Backstreet Boys of coarse!!!!lol Moderator: osprey asks: when you were growing up, out of all the kids in you family, who were you the closest to? Pollyanna: Howard. Moderator: iluvnobody asks: did you go to brian's and kevin's weddings? Were they beautiful? i am so happy for both of them! Pollyanna: I went to Kevin's wedding. My brother, John, went to Brian's wedding. I will have to admit, Kevin's wedding was an absolute ferry tale wedding. It looked just like Robin Hood and Lady Mary Ann getting married in a forest. Kristin, his new wife, wore a wedding gown that looked like Lady Mary Ann from Robin Hood and walked on red rose pedals in her bare feet on her way to the alter. Moderator: Howiesfan asks: if you were not a singer what do you think that you would want to be Pollyanna: I'd be an actress--which I already am! And fyi, I was also a music teacher. I always have my education to fall back on. I encourage you all to have this as well. Moderator: Howiesfan asks: Does it bother you that people mostly refer to you as "howie's sister" or the sister of "one of the backstreet boys?" Pollyanna: No. It's normal in the beginning when people don't know who I am yet. I am sure that very soon the referral won't be necessary and people will just know me as Pollyanna. Moderator: polly4me asks: have u guys been able to raise a lot of money for your lupus foundation? Pollyanna: Yes, thank God. We've raised over $100K and are in the process of donating it to a Lupus research center which we just visited in L.A. which has made great advancements in Lupus research in finding a cure very soon. font> Moderator: JohnCap asks: i just wanted to tell you that i heard you and howie singing fly to heaven at the lupus event in june in orlando and it was very powerful. your mom was in my line of vision and i could see that she was very affected too. how do you all get through that song with breaking down? it is so beautiful and touching. Pollyanna: thank you very much. I am so glad you enjoyed the song. KKnowing that through the song we are able to reach many people and enlighten them about this disease and how it can take lives, is one of the ways we are able to get through the song. DO U get mobbed? Pollyanna: actually when Howie and I go places, most people don't even recognize us. They tend to recognize Howie more when he's with the rest of the boys--not so much when he's hanging out with his sister. Moderator: jimbo asks: do you have a certain stly? your clothes always look so cool...do you have a stylist or do you do it yourself? Pollyanna: Thank you so much!!! No, I do it all myself. You have a great website. I'm been meaning to get in touch, but I've been so busy. I just wanted to thank you for your support. And, keep up the great work! Moderator: Born_4_Luv asks: I love "Andale Mi Corazon"!! it's such a get me up and moving song!!... what is your favorite song to dance to? Pollyanna: I don't have a favorite song to dance to, but I do enjoy going to clubs "when I have the time" and dancing in general, I do favor music that has a Latin beat to it--which is why I write that way as well. Moderator: PollyPollyPolly asks: do you prefer to write dance sings or ballads? Pollyanna: I enjoy both equally. It just depends on what mood I am in. And, which producer I am working with. Pollyanna: lol Moderator: muffinroo asks: Are there plans for another Lupus 2000 like the one in Orlando back in June? Pollyanna: Yes. I'm not exactly sure about the date but there will be a Lupus 2001 probably during the spring. Meanwhile, please join us on December 18th through the 22nd this year for our Lupus 2000 cruise where Howie and I will be performing and we will be cruising to Mexico. Moderator: truebsbgirl asks: did you help your bro in designing his club in Orlando? What's it called? Pollyanna: I didn't help him design it. The club actually used to be the old Beacham Theater where Howie and I performed the Wizard of Oz when we were young. The idea behind the theme and decoration was to revert back to it origin. The club is now called, Tabu. Moderator: justkaos asks: since you're Howie's brother, have you listened to the new coming bsb album. Pollyanna: I'm Howie's BROTHER??? LOL Pollyanna: no, I haven't heard the new album yet. I'm waiting to be pleasantly surprised. But I do kno that Howie has written five songs in the album. Moderator: purple_rose asks Pollyanna what is your all time fave animal? Pollyanna: my dog Oscar!!! He is a black and white Pekinese. Born September 16th, 1991. Moderator: Frick_20 asks: polly fly to heaven is my fave of all of your songs, which one's yours? Pollyanna: My favorite is Fly to Heaven because it is the one that I wrote about my sister, Caroline. It means a lot to me because I know that through the song that I am going to be able to help a lot of people who have the disease as well by donating the proceeds of the song to the foundation. Moderator: lissap asks: Have you ever done musical theater? I think you'd be fabulous in Les Mis Pollyanna: Thank you very much. I did a lot of musical theater in high school, college, and in New York City where I was studying and auditioning all the time. Moderator: truebsbgirl asks: who would you like to do a duet with? Pollyanna: Howie. But besides my brother it would be Marc Anthony. Moderator: Jenn asks: Hey pollyanna! I Just wanted to know who do you look up to as an idol, or inspiration, thanx Jenn Pollyanna: Besides God...and my parents...and my teachers...Cher! Because she's a great singer and equally great actress. And she's very independant and she looks great for her age!!! Moderator: BrendansGrrl asks: I know you're involved with Lupus, I don't know much about it. What is it exactly? Pollyanna: Lupus is a disease that affects your immune system. Moderator: jennmamma asks: how do you feel about being compared to other latino girl singers, like Jennifer Lopez and Selena? Pollyanna: Being compared to anyone is an honor. Moderator: osprey asks: do you ever visit the fansites devoted to you on the internet? Pollyanna: yes. When I have the time, but not as often as I'd like to. Moderator: Born_4_Luv asks: what's the coolest thing that a fan has ever done for you? Pollyanna: just the fact that the fans go out of there way, spending a lot of time and effort, to make these wonderful sites about me--most of whom I've never met! I am very flattered and honored. Pollyanna: I hope to be a very positive role model to anyone. I have a number of different platforms that I feel are very important for their cause.
