Sure, McDonald's is busy hawking Britney Spears and 'N Sync at the moment, but look for Atlanta-based Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell and his bandmates to get the Burger King treatment shortly.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Burger King will heavily promote the Backstreet Boys as you've never seen them --- starring as caped superheroes in a comic book and on an upcoming Web-based cartoon series.

In what could be among the most expensive ad campaigns ever, the fast-food chain, currently backing the Boys' concert tour, will soon be offering $2.99-apiece action figures of the Boys --- Nick, Howie, A.J., Kevin and Brian --- in the guises of Power Lord, Ninja-Man, Top Speed, Ordnance and Illusioneer.

The first Backstreet comic book, published in February at a steep $10 a copy, reportedly sold out its 50,000 print run in five weeks.

Stan Lee, of Stan Lee Media ("X-Men,'' ''Spider-Man''), is the brain behind the Backstreet comics. The cartoon on the Web is due to premiere Sunday.
