Local and national celebrities including movie and television actors, soap opera stars, professional wrestlers and other sports celebrities will be in Louisville on July 29 to join the TPS Lawmen, the nation's top Law Enforcement team, to play in a celebrity softball game to benefit local charities.

The team will host the first ever River City Celebrity Softball Challenge featuring the Louisville based World Law Enforcement Softball Champions in a game to support several local charities. Among the charities to benefit from the game include the Child Assault Prevention Program, Dare to Care and the WAVE-3 TV Leadership Scholar Program (college scholarships). The Lawmen Team will play against Team TPS (Louisville Slugger's top men's team and one of the Nation's best) and the celebrity guest players. Celebrities will have the option of selecting additional charities to receive portions of the proceeds.

Jones said the confirmations are still coming in. Others who were invited to participate include Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, Rock Star John Cougar Mellencamp, The Backstreet Boys and Louisville Coach Denny Crum and Kentucky Coach Tubby Smith.

Tickets are now on sale. They may be obtained in person at the Louisville Slugger Field Box Office (Monday thru Friday, 10-5) or by calling Ticketmaster at 502-361-3100. Ticketmaster Outlets are also located in area Kroger stores. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for children. All seating is reserved and we encourage the public to call early for great seats. Because this is an event to benefit charity, there will be a no-refund policy due to cancellation.
