Date: Feb 23, 2000 Jan 31, 2000 Backstreet Boys star Howie Durough is set to follow Boogie Nights actor Mark Wahlberg by jumping from music to movies. Dorough is spending the next 10 days in Los Angeles meeting with producers, agents and voice coaches in a bid to follow his lifelong passion of acting. And although the "Backstreet's Back" singer denies his Hollywood dealings signal the death toll for the pop hunks, he says acting is something he wants to pursue with vigour. He explains, "I have been acting and on stage from a young age up until the age of 19 when I got my Backstreet Boys gig. "Now I would love to work like Mark Wahlberg does on great roles and earn respect in the industry." Dorough admits he is facing many hurdles in Hollywood as he tries to garner his first audition. He adds, "I am going around with my resume with my little picture on it. I am looking forward to my first audition."
