If you don't know A.J., Howie, Nick, Kevin and Brian by heart now, you probably will come March 5.

That's when the heartthrobs better known as the Backstreet Boys visit Austin's Erwin Center. Expectations are high for the event to produce the sort of teeny-bopper concert craze so far absent from this city, as steady-touring acts such as Ricky Martin, 'NSync and Britney Spears have yet to perform here.

"We think the Backstreet Boys will go over well in Austin as they have in the rest of the country, which has been phenomenally well," said John Graham, director of the Erwin Center. "But we hope it isn't just teens. We hope moms and dads can get in on the fun, too."

Part of that fun for mom and dad will include paying $37.50 or $45 for tickets. Graham said those prices reflect the high production values of the show, which includes a stunt where the Boys ride airborne surfboards above the crowd.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 15 at UTTM outlets (477-6060).
