We all know that the Backstreet Boys travel all around the world to "reach" all their fans. But maybe we're not right. Is that true? Do they really care about all the fans? I don't think so. I know, it's difficult to love everybody, but they're all their fans, they should care about it. This might sound stupid for you, Canadian, American and European fans, but for us, the Brazilian fans, it means a lot. I know that many of you have seen the BSB live, or anything like that, and you'll always have them with you, but have you ever thought how bad it would be if you hadn't had, or even knew when you would have the pleasure of watching them live?? Think about it. (Except, of course, the TV concerts! That PPV show will go on air here on Feb.19th!) It seems that the BSB think that their fans are only from Europe, Canada and US, but they are making a BIG mistake. I know that we are as fanatic as you are.

I'd be glad if someone related to the Boys could read this, so they could know how UNHAPPY we are with this exclusion. Come on, they went to Chile and Argentina and "forgot" Brazil. Are we so insignificant to them? Do you know what happened last year? A girl called Jessica KILLED HERSELF because she lost a petition to meet the BSB. She was sure she would win and had bought a gold Rolex to give to Nick, 'cause she said she loved Nick more than her own life! Believe me, this is NOT a lie!

Then in the concert in Buenos Aires, her friend, Cris, was there, and some people said that the Boys didn't even want to talk to her, not even took the present. Well, this part, I don't know if it's real. This petition received over 1 million letters from all parts of the country. It was promoted by a radio station and I also sent a lot of letters. Some girls sent about 1000 letters, imagine, 1000, 1500, maybe 2000 letters!! Oh My Gosh! I cried so hard when I lost and I'm sure everybody cried too, 'cause we all were sure we would win, but of course, there's only one winner.

It happens, we have to face the truth and wait for another chance. Petitions like this are the only way we find to see them. I went to Europe last year, on Dec.25th, to Germany, France and Luxembourg. I was so happy because I thought that I could see them, but before I travel I checked their schedule and I saw I would arrive in Frankfurt 10 days after the concert. OK, there was nothing I could do about it. This year, maybe I'm going to Canada, US, Europe or wherever they are, and I hope now I can see them. It will be my birthday present. But I'm lucky, because it's not everybody who can across the ocean, or the continent just for the Backstreet Boys.

So, after all these things I wrote, the main point is: WHY DO THE BACKSTREET BOYS ALWAYS "FORGET" BRAZIL? That's totally, totaly unfair!!! And this is not only about Brazil, but all the fans from other countries, who feel the same way as we do. They say they'll go everywhere this World Tour. But think with me: June to August is Europe, Then, US and Canada and...what about us?? Once again, we're out. Brazilian Virgin Records said that they would surely come here on Oct.20th ... but I don't think that there will be enough time, right? I know that this World Tour thet'll be passing by here, but I just wanna know when! Maybe in The new "Millennuim" they will. OK, we'll wait,'cause we love the Backstreet Boys anyway.

Thanks

Larissa Brito

PS-They would come here in April of 98, but it ended up the only Howie came and now we're still waiting, waiting, waiting...
