- Date: Feb 05, 2099 By JANE STEVENSON -- Toronto Sun Despite rumours to the contrary, Canada's country music queen, Shania Twain, claims she likes teen act the Backstreet Boys. At least she likes their music. "I'm a really big fan," Twain told David Letterman when she appeared on his show last week to sing her latest hit, That Don't Impress Me Much. "Before my show every night on tour on the bus I just blast the Backstreet Boys to pump up for the show." Sensing Twain's odd choice of "psych" music might not go over well with the rest of her band, Letterman chimed in: "And how do the other musicians feel about that? Everybody on the bus okay with that?" Twain responded: "I'm alone on my bus when I rock to the Backstreet Boys, but everyone in the parking lot can hear it, obviously." A gossipy report about a week ago claimed Twain had a "snit fit" while taping her upcoming CBS TV special with guests the Backstreet Boys and Elton John in Miami. Twain was reported to be upset about the Boys' screaming fans and the fact that the Boys couldn't hit the high notes while dueting with her on From This Moment On. Naturally, Twain's record reps in Toronto have dismissed this rumour. In the meantime, Twain couldn't tell Letterman exactly when her TV special will run. "Between now and the end of the millennium?" he joked. Her label said it's scheduled for March 3.
