Showtime Event Television to Bring Pop's Hottest Stars to Pay Per View With Backstreet Boys in Concert! On Saturday, February 6 At 8 PM ET/PT

NEW YORK--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--Nov. 30, 1998--SET (Showtime Event Television) Pay Per View announced today that it will distribute Backstreet Boys in Concert!, a 90-minute show featuring pop music's hottest stars, on Saturday, February 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The pay-per-view special will include the band's hits off their quadruple platinum self-titled debut album, Backstreet Boys, and will be distributed on pay-per-view at the suggested retail price of $19.95.

Filmed live at the band's homecoming concert at the Orlando Arena in Florida, the show features the new kings of pop at their charismatic best, strutting their stuff for their young fans. It is the first ever pay-per-view show by the Jive recording artists.

A hit with industry insiders as well, Backstreet Boys recently won MTV's prestigious 'Best Group Video' award for "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)," and have been nominated by Billboard Magazine for 'Group Album of the Year' and by the American Music Awards for 'Favorite Pop/Rock Group of the Year.'

With over 25-million albums sold worldwide, nearly 9-million sold in the U.S. and four top ten singles under their belts, Backstreet Boys have become international mega-stars. Kevin, AJ, Howie D, Nick and Brian kicked off their North American tour in Charlotte, NC, and have quickly become one of the music industry's hottest and most coveted concert acts. The teen idols best known for singing "Quit Playing Games," "As Long As You Love Me" and "Everybody (Backstreet's Back)" are selling out arenas around the country at record- shattering speed.
