The Spice Girls beat out All Saints, the Backstreet Boys, the Beastie Boys and Garbage for the best group award. They also won the award for best new pop album. International pop stars and Italian fashion designers shared the limelight in a glamourfest that took the manic energy of rock and roll and blended it a brand of cutting-edge chic that can only be found in Milan. The awards were hosted by former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy wearing clothes by Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana. Comment on this item.
