In a move that has startled the industry, male bimbo superstars THE BACKSTREET BOYS have somehow grown brains and realized that they were being played like an old disco record by their svengali management team. KEVIN RICHARDSON, HOWIE DOROUGH, NICK CARTER, BRIAN LITTRELL and AJ McLEAN have unceremoniously sacked their managers JOHNNY and DONNA WRIGHT after a series of disputes over unpaid royalties that could total as much as $11.2 million. Now that the mall rats from Florida have finally gone multi-platinum with their spice girls in male drag act, da boyz are looking to get paid if ya know what I mean. And to show their record label that they mean bizness they have reportedly gone ON STRIKE and refuse to begin work on their third album which would capitalize on the current boytoy band craze. But da boyz refuse to be swayed by the winds of public opinion and are steadfastly vowing not to sing another note until they collect some of their hard-earned cash. As Backstreet biographer ROB McGIBBON says, "They reckon they are owed a fortune and are not prepared to record until they get it." Backstreet Boys as shrewd businessmen - who knew??
