Backstreet Boys Day!

*The city of Orlando is declaring Oct. 7 Backstreet Boys Day in honor of the tornado relief concert the group headlined in March, raising about $250,000 for local victims of the devastation.

While not a federal holiday, it is a great excuse to get off work early and take the kids to the Orlando City Hall plaza at 4 p.m. Wednesday to see the pop phenoms, whose debut album has sold 22 million copies worldwide.

All five - Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough - will be there to accept keys to the city and a proclamation from Orlando Mayor Glenda Hood.

"The boys group flew back to their hometown to help out in a big way after out community suffered the nation's deadliest tornado disaster in 13 years," Hood said. "We appreciated their support then, and now we want to show some support back."
