Washington, D.C. – February 12, 2002 - Can’t get enough of Sweet D.? Then join him after the “Rock & Sports Experience,” on Saturday, February 16, 2002, for the after party at Club “Insomnia,” located right next to the MCI Center in Downtown D.C. on 714 6th Street NW. The after party, sponsored by “Hot 99.5,” will feature an exclusive V.I.P. section available for the first 100 people ONLY. Admission is $50.00 a person, with an open cash bar for the first two hours. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Dorough Lupus Foundation, non-profit organization founded by Howie D. of the “Backstreet Boys” and his family to increase awareness of this disease, raise money for lupus research and provide financial assistance for those individuals living with the disease and cannot afford treatment. Make sure to visit the DLF and Buzz MG booth at the “Rock & Sports Experience,” located right next to the “Hot 99.5” booth for a special raffle as well as official DLF items available for purchase, including the DLF Bear, which is a small, plush dark purple bear wearing the DLF T-shirt and features the official “Wings of Hope” Butterfly logo. It’s available for purchase or with a $25.00 donation. Also available for purchase for the first time is the DLF Crystal Sun Catcher, created by The Pairpoint Crystal Company, Inc. Pairpoint sun catchers are hand pressed, with individual variation between each piece making them a unique one-of-a-kind collectors item. The sun catcher will feature the DLF official logo and slogan as its centerpiece. The glass is a beautiful shade of amethyst and sparkle purple hues of light in the sun’s rays. Howie’s “Meet & Greet” and visit to the “Rock & Sports Experience” is part of his efforts to spread Lupus awareness. In collaboration with Buzz Marketing Group (Buzz MG), the Dorough Lupus Foundation (DLF) and Buzz MG have come together to help get the message about lupus to young people, to raise funds for lupus research and to aid those living with lupus.
