Boys Cancel Malaysian Leg of Black&Blue World Tour

Date: Nov 07, 2001 Source: BlueHyppo Submitted By: chrisy BSB CANCELS BLACK & BLUE WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN KUALA LUMPUR Due to the tragic events in the United States on September 11 and the recent conflicts in the Middle-East, the Backstreet Boys ‘Black & Blue’ World Tour 2001 in Kuala Lumpur has been CANCELLED. The Backstreet Boys themselves lost a close member of their backstage crew during the September 11 attacks and understandably security of their crew and fans is of paramount importance to them. TM Multimedia via TMnet as the presenter of the concert had eagerly looked forward to the concert, especially as it was to be the highlight of the 5th Anniversary celebrations for its loyal customers. Baharum Salleh, Chief Operating Officer Of TM Multimedia said, "However, we understand the pain BSB must have been going through with the loss of their close friends and we hope everything goes well with them. We would also like to extend our heartfelt condolences on the loss of one of their crew members to the tragic incidents." Though the Backstreet Boys Black & Blue concert for Malaysia will not take place, TMnet will continue to reward its customers with other special 5th Anniversary products and services during this time. "A lot of promotional activities have been organized and TMnet had embarked on a series of nationwide road shows to promote the 5th Anniversary Celebrations and the concert. We feel sorry that the concert has been called off and would like to apologize to our customers for not being able to reward them with free tickets to watch their favorite pop idols in action. However, we will honor our contests with attractive prizes," he added. TMnet winners of the Backstreet Boys Black & Blue contest will now be one of the first in Malaysia to get their hands on the Backstreet Boys Greatest Hits album as well TMnet Pre-Paid Starter Packs and cool BlueHyppo t-shirts. BSB did however send their apologies to their fans in Malaysia for not making the trip this time but promised that the wait for their next concert wouldn’t be long, and that they would be hitting Malaysia very soon!
