- Date: Apr 17, 2001 Titles by both the Backstreet Boys and Meat Loaf reached the 14 million mark this month, albeit for releases that came 20 years apart. The new RIAA certification level came for Loaf's 1977 classic "Bat Out of Hell" (Epic) and the boy band's 1997 self-titled Jive set, respectively. Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance" (MCA Nashville) and Aaron Carter's "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" (Jive) were each certified double-platinum for U.S. shipments of 2 million copies.
