-- World's Best Selling Camera Reunites with "Larger Than Life" Backstreet Boys for their North American Summer Tour --

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, Polaroid will again take its number-one selling i-Zone Instant Pocket Camera* to the street -- Backstreet that is -- with the sponsorship of the Backstreet Boys North American Black & Blue Tour. Reuniting with one of the hottest pop groups in the world, Polaroid combines two of teens' favorite things -- music and picture-taking -- in the musical event of the summer. The 37-city arena tour, from June through September 2001, also features reggae/pop superstar Shaggy.

The Polaroid i-Zone, a hip little camera that takes instant mini photo stickers, is the Official Camera of the Backstreet Boys Black & Blue Tour and will be used on-stage and in local market events. In conjunction with the tour, Polaroid is introducing a limited edition black and blue I-Zone camera kit. So that teens can customize their i-Zone camera, the kit includes a free Backstreet Boys camera strap and stickers of the tour logo and band members. It will be available in stores nationwide starting in June.

``We're very excited to once again join forces with the Backstreet Boys for their summer tour,'' said Terry Carlson, divisional vice president of North American marketing, Polaroid Corporation. ``This partnership combines the social spark of Polaroid i-Zone picture-taking with one of the hottest musical acts around to give teens exactly what they want -- great entertainment and connections to their friends.''

The i-Zone Pocket Camera will be used on stage during the concerts, and, in select cities, fans will be able to send a personal message to the band compliments of Polaroid. Prior to the show, teens will have the chance to test out the i-Zone camera and stick their photos and personal messages to the Boys on a ``larger than life'' billboard that will be delivered to the band backstage.

In addition, the sponsorship includes print advertising and exciting consumer promotions, such as the ``Back to School with Backstreet Boys'' instant-win sweepstakes, where fans can win a trip to meet the band and attend their concert.

Created especially for teens and tweens, the Polaroid i-Zone Instant Pocket Camera is designed to encourage creative self-expression and extend the boundaries of imagination. The i-Zone Instant Pocket Camera creates mini photo stickers, giving kids the freedom to take instant photos and stick them practically anywhere.

Polaroid Corporation, with annual sales of approximately $2 billion, is the worldwide leader in instant imaging. Polaroid supplies instant photographic cameras and films; digital imaging hardware, software and media; secure identification systems; and sunglasses to markets worldwide.
