- ![]() Date: Nov 29, 2000 Chart Talk By NANDA LWIN -- Jam! Showbiz BOY CRAZY: "Shape Of My Heart" captures the top spot on the SoundScan singles chart for the fourth straight week. By doing so, "Shape" becomes the Backstreet Boys’ longest-running No. 1 on the sales chart edging out "I Want It That Way," which was No. 1 for three weeks in May 1999. It also holds on top of The Hits for the second week. Meanwhile, off of the heels of the new "Black & Blue" album and a worldwide promotional tour, BSB has two other singles making their debuts on The Hits. "Get Another Boyfriend" enters at No. 64 while "The Call" premieres at No. 77. -------------------------------------- ChartTalk Potential ChartTalk columnist Nanda Lwin takes a look at some of the newest releases and predicts where they'll end up on The Hits and the SoundScan album chart. ALBUMS Black & Blue - Backstreet Boys (Jive): There’s no doubt where the new Backstreet Boys CD will end up on the SoundScan album chart. The big news will be whether it can break the one-week sales record set by Celine Dion’s "Let’s Talk About Love" in 1997. "Black & Blue" is a typical BSB album with a good mix of fast and slow tracks ("The Call" and "Get Another Boyfriend" are example of energetic dance hits). One of the slower tracks, the lead single, "Shape Of My Heart" is currently No. 1 on the SoundScan singles, The Hits and The Record’s Adult Contemporary charts. BSB also has a sure hit with teens and parents alike in the Dan Hill-penned ballad, "I Promise You (With Everything I Am)." Prediction: No. 1
