- ![]() Date: Nov 22, 2000 Backstreet Boy Howie Dorough has made a proposal to Madonna. Aware that Madonna is currently embarking in a series of low-key gigs in small venues, the singer has offered up the use of his own club to his fellow superstar. Howie reckons his club, the exclusive Orlando venue Taboo, would be just right as a venue for an intimate gig by Madge. 'I know Madonna always goes out in Miami so since Orlando is right close by I thought I'd ask,' he said. Madonna has already played a small-scale show in New York and is gearing up for her UK show at Brixton Academy. 'I think it's a great idea - it gives something back to the fans,' says Howie, who has already performed his own set at the Taboo Club, (originally an old theatre where he made his stage debut at just six years old). 'Ideally the Backstreet Boys would also like to do some smaller places alongside the bigger venues.' Howie would also like to involve Madonna and her superstar chums in his charity foundation, the Dorough Lupus Foundation set up in memory of his sister Caroline. He said, 'If I could pull together a Live Aid-style gig that would be my biggest goal.'
