The privately chartered Boeing 767 ferrying the Backstreet Boys on their four-day, round-the-world extravaganza to promote the release of their brand new album, Black & Blue, belongs to the King of Saudi Arabia, according to an insider traveling on the plane.

The jet, decked out in special Black & Blue world tour logos and configured to carry 28 passengers, is worth a cool $100 million, revealed the source. It's $60 million interior includes silk carpets, luxury furnishings, king size beds, and special, larger-than-first-class seats worth $70,000 each. Based in the Bahamas, the plane cost the Backstreet Boys a whopping $2.5 million to hire. This is the only the second time it has been hired out. The last non-royal occupant was President Bill Clinton.

Currently en route to Rio and then New York, the Boeing has taken on new cockpit crew for every leg of the 100-hour tour, which so far has touched down in Tokyo, Sydney, and Cape Town (allstar, Nov. 20). But the cabin staff catering to the Backstreet Boys' every need is apparently the kings' own.

In spite of their decadent mode of travel, the Backstreet Boys have not got up to any rock-star shenanigans or mile-high antics aboard the plane, says our source, who is close to the band. "There's been no drugs, booze, or womanizing," he said. "They're a bunch of levelheaded guys."

Photos of the plane and more details about its interior are available at backstreetboys.com.
