Could a Backstreet Boy be a hero? He has saved many lives that he does not know about. This twenty five year old singer has millions of fans around the world. His name is Brian Littrell and he has saved many lives through his voice and personality. Female teenagers have his face plastered on their walls, own every compact disk he and his band mates have recorded, sleep over just to get tickets to a concert, and take any chance they can to touch the star who has brought hope to their lives. Brian is a strong courageous person who is helpful and has the ability to make people smile.

Brian has overcome many obstacles in his life. When he was five, he was diagnosed with a heart murmur and had a zero percent chance of living but he did survive with the help of his family and friends. In 1993 he joined a musical group called the Backstreet Boys that forced him to leave behind his family and friends to pursue a musical career. In seven years he has had fans following him around the world asking for his autograph. In 1998, he had open heart surgery to repair a hole that had re-opened. That caused him a setback and touring was not as upbeat as it used to be for Brian. In 1998, he and his band mates lost a good friend and co.-writer Denniz Pop, also in '98 he lost his grandfather to colon cancer. So in the twenty- five years of his life he has overcome problems that have made him a stronger person.

In the seven years the Backstreeet Boys have been together, Brian has been the one who has helped people the most. Teenage girls may not have the best family lives. They want to be pretty, have a boyfriend and to be accepted. When these people go to Backstreet Boys concerts, Brian sings and for three hours they forget about their troubles. All of a sudden they don't have all the problems floating around. His voice is incredible and he has no idea how many lives he has saved by just his voice and personality. If the fans are having a bad day, they go home and play a compact disk or a video and all their problems just seem to go away. This is the way that music by the Backstreet Boys helps people in getting rid of their problems. Many fans say that the music by the Backstreet boys has helped them get through a tough time.

When fans go to a concert, Brian makes it all worthwhile, he jokes around with the rest of the group and shoots water at the fans. At all of his shows he knows how to make people laugh. The fans come out of the venue and they're still talking about the many ways Brian made them laugh. He says he's always ninety nine percent happy all the time, and doesn't like to be in a bad mood. When he's trying to make people laugh, the fans fall on the floor laughing. He knows how to make people smile, laugh, and cry. He has the ability to bring out the best in people and their strongest emotions.
