- ![]() Date: Mar 27, 2000 I just had to comment on Backstreet.Net reader Nicole's story on the Johnny No Name tickets. I, too, had a similar experience. It's not quite the same, but it sure did ring a bell for me. It's no secret to most of my friends that I am quite enamored of AJ McLean. When the news of his taking his Johnny No Name project on tour hit, I was in the know because of these wonderful people. They kept me updated on the situation and promised to secure two tickets for me and my sister when they became available. Several days ago I was informed by one of my best friends online, that the show for New York City was sold out. Prior to that another very close friend told me that she had spent hours on the phone, calling in vain trying to get me a ticket. I was so upset, but I figured it wasn't meant to be. I said as much to them. Thank God my one wonderful friend did not give up! She kept at it until the day before yesterday when she called me with a surprise that would leave me speechless, crying and shaking. Her words: "Hey. How would you like to see Johnny No Name in concert on Saturday, April 9th at Irving Plaza in New York City?" My response: "What?" I couldn't believe I had heard right. She told me again. I gave the phone to my sister who was standing right behind me and thinking something was wrong with my friend. I couldn't talk. I just sat here and cried. My friend told her the news and I did everything I could to stop from losing it! Me! Going to see AJ as Johnny No Name! This couldn't have come at a better time. It was just what I needed to stop the craziness I was feeling. I just wanted to say that I know exactly how Nicole feels and I completely understood when she said she couldn't sleep! I didn't that night, either. The person who I am getting this beautiful gift from is a friend I met six months ago through Backstreet.Net when she responded to a letter I had written about being an older fan who has a vast affinity with the Backstreet Boys. Thank you so much Backstreet.Net for bringing us together! Without all of the people who run this, I wouldn't have come to know such a wonderful person and friend who did every thing in her power to get me to this concert. You're the best!
