- ![]() Date: Mar 20, 2000 I am a sixteen year old who has lived her dream. On February 28th, I missed school, with permission from my parents, so I could go to the arena the BSB were playing at so I could get a glimpse of the Boys either running in or something. Never in my dreams did I know I was going to be personally invited by Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys to be sang to onstage. The day before I was in the Gallery Furniture/104 KRBE Perfect Fan contest. I was so psyched to get to participate. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I lost to two girls who had amazing performances. I was upset, I thought my chance to meet the BSB were dashed. But I never gave up the faith that GOD would put me in the position to meet the BSB. Around 2:30 in the afternoon, I ran into a lady looking for the entrance to the BSB fan conference. I wasn't invited but my mother and I knew where she needed to be. Being the kind people we were, we helped her find where she was supposed to be. She was a very nice lady, and my guardian angel. When it was time for them to go in, she asked one of the security guards if my mother and I could go in with them. I was thrilled and totally praising GOD. I knew I could see them and I had a chance to talk to them. If I hadn't helped that lady, or been in the right place, I would not have gotten in. It was my turn to ask a question. I wanted to ask Brian if he had dreamed of being famous in high school. When he had answered my question, he asked if my mother was here. Thank God I decided to go with her and not my buds. I told him yes, she was. Then he said something that made my dreams come true. He said, "I can get you onstage with me tonight." At this point, I wanted to lose it! But I kept my composure. I said alright, who would turn that down? So, I got told what to do and that night, Brian sang to my mother and me. He was the sweetest guy! He made me laugh a few times onstage and he has a beautiful voice. The best part was when I got a hug. If he ever reads this, I want him to know that he gave me confidence in myself, because out of the 45 fans in the conference, he chose me to go onstage. But I learned three important things from this unforgettable experience. 1. Be nice to strangers. If I hadn't been nice to my angel, I would never had gotten in to the conference. 2. You can always hang with your Mom. That was a bonding experiece and a month later, we still talk about it. And the most important one is three. 3. Keep faith in GOD. From the moment I got tickets, I had been praying for Him to put me in the situation to meet the BSB. I had lost the contest, I begged my mom to leave work early. If she hadn't, I wouldn't get to meet them. GOD did this for me. He placed me in the position, proving that GOD answers prayers. But be nice to strangers for they are angels in disguise.
