Finally someone has sat down and written what, I'm sure, hundreds of thousands of fans have been thinking for a long time and I would like to thank YOU Lori, for taking the time to do that.

I have been a fan of the Backstreet Boys since 1996 and I have followed their progress (particulaly as they broke the United Kingdom and the States) from being unknown and classified as 'just another manufactured boyband' through to their present day success. I admire them and I'm sure I'm not the only fan who has been inspired by them - whether it be to write our own songs and music, take up dancing, or something else that they have made us think....'yeah, I can do that'.

I'm not saying I haven't done the odd obsessive thing and I do claim to know a lot about them - but only the things they have actually said in public. I refuse to believe everything written in Newspapers and Magazines about them and feel sympathy for them when ex-girlfriends and people from their past, try to make a small fortune by elaborating their stories of time they have spent with the Backstreet Boys.

I'm sorry if I have offended anyone by what I have written -what I am basically trying to say is that I think the Backstreet Boys deserve the respect that they give to us returned - come on, they wrote a song about us AND REALEASED IT. That must make every fan across the world think 'hey, they HAVEN'T forgotten about us - they still care'. The Backstreet Boys haven't forgotten how they got where they are today and who played a massive part in getting them there.

Now, all I can ask from every fan across the world, is that they are treated as human beings - just because they may portray themselves in videos as people who don't let obsessive fans bother them doesn't mean that it is ok to do so.

I may only be 15 but I admire the Backtreet Boys and everything they have achieved in the time they have been together. I would love for the Backstreet Boys to carry on making music that appeals to such a wide audience and I would HATE for us, the fans, to drive them to the state that they can't take the constant attention anymore. How would each and everyone of you feel if the Backstreet Boys split up because of us? I know this may not apply to everyone but I'm positive it applies to a LOT of people.

The Backstreet Boys have grown up, they are no longer boys -they are men; that is how they deserve to be treated. So come on, let's give the Backstreet Boys all the support we can whilst they carry on doing everything they can to please the public...let's keep the Backstreet Pride ALIVE.

Lastly, I agree that we should thank them - they have given something special to each and everyone of their fans and anyone who can do that deserves to be thanked.

C yA!

Keep Smiling :o)

Hannah!!!

I believe the greatest thing we can do for the BSB is pray for them. Not just for right now, but for their futures. They have many big decisions ahead of them. I pray they can make the right choices; and they will be happy and content.

I agreed with every single thing that I just read. I couldnt have said it better even if I wanted too. I'm 16 and a huge BSB fan but I know where to draw the line when it comes to them. I think that the younger generation such as myself...sould come to an understanding that they are human. I also think that it shouldnt take us to get in our 20's and 30's b4 we realize things like this. I'm sure it's getting to them by now. 6 almost 7 years in this business...it has to get hard after awhile...but they are true to their fans and they keep going not only for the love of their music but for the love of their fans. Hardly anyone seems to understand that. The fans keep taking and expecting more and more everday. If they didnt make it to your town...dont whine about it and blame them. It isnt their fault. I'm sure they dont sit down in a room and say things like "I think we should skip Texas this year. It gets too hot" They dont even know where they are going half of the time. They just get on a bus and go...lol...I just wish they didnt get all the greif they get about personal lifes and things of that sort. It's not fair one bit. I one of those fans that give money to their charitys. I earned 300 bucks over the summer and 150 of that was split between Brians and Howie D's charity. I'm all about giving back. They've done enough for me. Not it's my turn to give them what they've given me.

When I read the article on being a Backstreet Boy, I realized that they do put a lot of work into what they do. I notice that in my life it is hard to find time for myself and that can get frustrating. I don't want to even imagine what they are going through. I don't know if many people can even comprehend what their life is like, touring here, going there. The days must go by like a blur. I never realized to thank them, but now I realize that they are giving up their lives to make us happy and they deserve more respect then having girls push and pull just to see them. I am glad someone wrote the article, all of the info needs to be said so people can realize that they put so much into their work.

Thanks to the Boys!

I agree very much with the article.Especially about the part when she mentioned how some fans yell, "I Love You Nick" or "Marry Me".I honestly love BSB for their music and what it has done to my life.Nope Im not just saying that because I want ot be looked at as a good fan.I used to do some bad things in my life I made alot of mistakes but now, all because of BSB's music I've become a better person.

Hey I just wanted to say that first of all of course we all love the BSB & they have said their self that they like the screems from the girls when the lights go down and they come out but they also said that they get tired of it & wish people would just treat them normal. They can't even get out at a gas station without being noticed, & yeah wouldn't we all love to have a pice of grass that Nick MIGHT have touched in the past year, I mean come on I wouldn't like to come home to a bear yard after being away on tour for that long. If you ever get a change to meet them then don't screem, just walk up and say hi.It's that simple & they will love you for it.One last thing on the girl friend subject I heard this from someone else but I think it's verry true & something for us all to think about: Dear Nick's girl friend(or any of them), I don't know you but all I can say is that you are the luckiest girl alive and I hope you take good care of him for me.

Hello , fello BSB fans and a happy new year! I have read the article on Being a Backstreet Boy and i agree 100% with what was said. I believe that the life of a celebrity is not made up only of photo shoots and big salaries, but a lot of press and media involvement and no personal life, and definitely a lot of hard work. BSB are no exception, with all of the horrible troubles that they have encountered it is amazing to see that they have not given up on their career, and i do believe a little of it did have to do with the fans! Yes ever single one. Most people believe that Backstreet Boys are a boy band , they are a vocal group and they are adored by people of all ages and races. We all need to come together and support them and the work that they do not only on their sex appeal. The last thing any of us want is to see them hurt or in pain, from the SMTMOBL video we saw what it looked like. I personally was a screaming chasing pre-teen fan in my days of NKOTB and i learned that all that hype got you no where, at 21 i have realized that BSB are to be respected as performers and people. I mean no disrespect. They do a wonderful job at their careers, and come across as grounded and normal people, who DO appreciate all that the fans do and we should treat them as normal people...i bet it may even make it easier to get an autograph or that picture if AJ, Kevin, Brian, Nick and the sweet Howie D are just treated as people. Say hi and thank you for making great music, it will go a long way rather than getting yourself killed chasing after a tour bus or arrested for being in a hotel room. Love them as they love you, simply and respectfully!! Hugs and loves, Sweetlin**Linda*

Alright I read the Life of a backstreet boy and I absolutly agree. Sometimes fans go too far. Stealing their stuff, How would that help proclaim your 'love' for their music or the way you appreciate their finer attributes.

But life is not all fun and games for a fan either. We can just enjoy their music and move on but for most of us unfortunatly it goes deeper than that we relate and we respect and we get obsessed. Obsession isn't such a bad thing but it does affect your life, money that could be used for college savings is put into the numerous amounts of BSB merchandise. When we here about the girlfriends of our fave member we shudder and wish we could be them. But how far is too far? Where do we draw the line in this? Getting angry cause Nick is back with Mandy isn't gonna solve anything. So why do we do it? I listen to my friends cry and complain and I admit I do it too just cause they're 'taken' or we are afraid that they will get hurt. We should want them to be happy and not just happy with us, the infatuated fans.
